The problem with sex toys is that they can’t easily be put on display on the shelves. And it’s best to avoid scattering them if you want to find them when you need them. But how do you store your sex toys properly?
The tragic and under-recognised problem of sex toy fights
“The bedside table drawer,” you might say. Unless yours physically communicates with your Twitter account, which could become very embarrassing.
Not bad, not bad. Except not everyone necessarily has a bedside table. Or the right space to fit one in. And on top of that, sex toys have a nasty habit of fighting each other. What? Huh? Yes, yes. Let me explain.
Some plastics chemically react with others. In short, sex toys can melt if left in prolonged contact with one another.
And this is how Dildo-belt-First-name (in “Jelly”), and Rabbit-pink-in-I-don’t-know-what-material, left together in the same bag, fought each other in a merciless battle. Result: an early retirement for poor Rabbit, too battered for me to still want to use it. And a few nasty scratches for Dildo-belt-First-name. The drama.
To avoid bad surprises of this kind, it’s best to store your sex toys in separate cases (and the cases shouldn’t be plastic!).
Some sex toys come with their own case. For the others, sex toy cases (such as this one, from the brand Fun Factory) can be found in shops. But a pouch or a bag in natural fabric (cotton, velvet, silk, linen, etc) will work just as well, and allow a much wider choice in terms of look and size.

Protecting sex toys from unwanted encounters that could damage them is already good. But the question remains of being able to keep them all in one place, as well as the various accessories, so that all the items are easy to access when you want to use them. And bad luck, we don’t have a bedside table.
The all-purpose bag for storing your sex toys
The all-purpose bag is already better than nothing for storing your sex toys. It avoids misplacing a pair of handcuffs under the bed and a vibrator in a wardrobe between two boxes of beans. It was the solution we had settled for, failing to find anything better.
The trouble with the all-purpose bag? When you’re looking for a specific item, you struggle. Often you have to empty the bag on the bed, it takes time, and it kills the mood.
The super sex toy case
We therefore set out in search of a super case, large enough to accommodate our collection of sex toys and accessories, and with compartments allowing easy access to the item of our choice among its contents.
Here are various sex toy cases we came across in online shops:
- The Lunch Boxxx travel case: not very sexy, it looks like a bike repair kit. And too small (27 × 6 × 15 cm).
- The Secret Box, by Love to Love: looks ok, but much too small (30 × 13 × 7.5 cm).
- The Lunch Boxxx: rather nice, but still too small (30 × 10 × 10 cm).
- The Devine Toys case, available in many variants of colours and patterns: “Rose Corset”, “Red Corset”, “Violet Corset” or imitation leather: pretty, but always too small (22 × 10 × 10 cm).
- The Devine Toys case, which exists in two versions: “pink crocodile” or black with pink edging: we’re getting close to the right size (38 × 20 × 25 cm). The pink version is a bit too… Euh, pink, I suppose. But without being a work of art, the black version looks alright. However, at between 80 and 100 euros for a simple box, it still makes you a bit queasy. And above all, it is out of stock on all the sites where we come across it.
Our find
In the end, we found the ideal case quite by chance, round the corner in a… DIY shop!
Storing your sex toys in a DIY case, tacky, you might say? I leave you to judge for yourselves from the photos.
Not quite ideal, in fact.
Although it can hold a satisfactory quantity of items and it’s hard to choose anything bigger without it becoming cumbersome, we underestimated the volume of our collection. And some items (whip, restraint bars) are too long to fit in it.
All we have to do now is go out looking for a second box, of a different shape, to complement the first…

Edit: By chance on the internet, we discovered with astonishment the Tunti Illuminating Boudoir Toybox, a sex toy case (sold as such) that strangely resembles… our DIY case, with a few extra gadgets (lighting, padding, …)!
