We tested the Flare Sportsheets, a small red silicone dildo with a flared base. We’re often asked for advice on choosing a sextoy for anal penetration, and this small, flared-base dildo seemed like a suitable candidate.
Here’s our review of the Flare Sportsheets dildo.
Sextoy packaging
Made of clear plastic, the sextoy’s packaging is disposable. Not ugly, but not exactly memorable either. Doesn’t matter, it’s the sextoy we’re interested in, not the box!
It’s worth noting, however, that no storage accessory is included.
Look of the Flare Sportsheets dildo
In a solid, slightly iridescent red, the Flare Sportsheets dildo is quite understated in appearance. It’s rather small: in fact, it measures close to fifteen centimetres in length, thirteen of which are insertable, for a diameter of nearly three centimetres.
Its flared base, wider than the rest of the sextoy, acts as a stopper preventing it from going too far in, making it safe for anal penetration.
Texture and materials
The Flare Sportsheets dildo is made entirely of silicone: smooth, soft, and flexible. It’s therefore body-safe and non-porous, making it very easy to clean thoroughly. On the downside, its surface has a slight tendency to attract dust.
Using the Flare Sportsheets dildo
Thanks to its flared base, the Flare Sportsheets dildo is equally suitable for anal as vaginal penetration.
Inserted vaginally, it’s certainly not a giant dick, but it does what’s expected of it. Its slight curve allows it to more easily reach the G-spot. In short, it’s a really nice little dildo.
It’s for anal use that its small size becomes an asset. With some water-based lubricant, it inserts fairly easily, and the hand movement then controls the pace and depth of the thrusts, allowing you to go as slowly as you like.

Conclusion on the Flare Sportsheets dildo
The good points:
- Its small size and wider base make it an excellent sextoy for getting started with anal.
- It’s simple, but body-safe, curved to stimulate the G-spot or P-spot, and comfortable to hold. In short, it’s a rather well-designed dildo.
The bad points:
- It’s a very simple sextoy, and a bit small: it won’t therefore suit everyone’s tastes.
