Making a silicone dildo (6/6): Alva, the result

le

We set out to make a silicone dildo. Here is the result in photos.

Our sex toy is named Alva. It represents the penis of a hermaphroditic dragon living in the snowy Nordic forests.

As with many other species, spring is the mating season for the Alva. Their phallus, also called a “clitonis” because its glans houses a clitoris, then dons its nuptial finery, imitating the appearance of the first flowers piercing through the snow, in order to attract a partner.

Pure herbivores, the Alva love a plant that is toxic to humans, called “moonflower” by the locals. According to legend, due to their consumption of this flower in the spring, their seed is a powerful aphrodisiac, which triggers a state comparable to orgasm in anyone who touches it, lasting for several hours.

It is said that a warrior once decided to catch two Alva in the middle of copulation, in order to capture them and harvest this precious liquid. She disappeared, but finding no trace of a fight, the villagers decided to leave supplies daily at the edge of the woods, just in case. For several months, cries of ecstasy were regularly heard coming from the forest.

The warrior was only seen again at the beginning of summer, sword and shield on her back, a smirk on her face and very dirty hair. She waved her hand, and in the distance, dozens of pairs of wings were seen flying over the forest, describing circular movements as if to answer her gesture.

The steps of making a sex toy

If you missed the previous articles, and want to know what you’re doing here, reading weird stories about dragons with psychotropic clito-cocks, well… I admit, you might be a sensible person. So here is a quick recap of our adventures:

Making a silicone dildo: the flaws

This is the first time we have tried to make a silicone dildo. Therefore, this one has a few flaws.

We decided to analyse them to understand them better, and to learn from our mistakes in order to repeat the experience.

Alva’s “clito-pistil” is a little flatter than expected, and has a hollow that isn’t too shocking, but wasn’t part of the model. And more generally, the reliefs of its glans are less marked than those of the mould. Maybe a bit too much oil at the bottom of the mould.

We also notice a few holes, especially (but not only) near the base, on Alva’s “testicles”. Perhaps these were bubbles that survived the degassing. Or perhaps we somewhat rushed the pouring at the end, in our haste to complete this step before the silicone set too much.

And finally, the most annoying thing, an area on the base, at the bottom of an unwanted hollow, took much longer to cure than the rest, to the point where we wondered if it would ever finish curing. Fortunately, this flaw is located on the base side, on a non-insertable part. The most probable cause seems to us to be a poor mixture of the silicone components, which could have left a lump with unequal proportions.

Making a silicone dildo: conclusion

It was only a first try! Now that we’ve had the opportunity to learn a few things, we fully intend to repeat the experience.

Luckily, since the mould is intact, we will be able to reuse it to obtain a second copy of Alva. For this second moulding, we plan to use Ecoflex silicone. Like DragonSkin, it is a body-safe silicone, using a platinum catalyst. Ecoflex is a platinum-cured body-safe silicone. It is used, among other things, to create special effects directly on the skin.

Of course, we will show you the result!
