We’d never used a penis sleeve before. We were tempted by the idea of trying one, but penis extenders tend to be less popular than other types of sex toy, and most are made from materials whose composition isn’t specified, which rather put us off.
It was while browsing the Lovehoney website that I discovered that Vixen Creations, a brand that makes silicone sex toys with a realistic look and feel (including the wonderful Goodfella, which we reviewed recently), had several penis sleeves in its range.
If my partner was going to cover his phallus with an accessory designed to simulate a bigger one, we might as well go all in and find a rock, a peak, a cape, a peninsula… That’s how we came to choose the Colossus, a penis sleeve which, as its name suggests, represents the penis of a colossus, complete with prominent veins and imposing dimensions.

The box is reasonably sturdy and keeps the sleeve protected, but it’s a bit bulky. We soon swapped it for a fabric pouch.

Appearance: a very realistic penis sleeve
The penis sleeve looks like a huge, realistic dildo, but hollow, with an elastic band at the base. You insert the penis into the sleeve, taking care to pass the elastic band behind the testicles.
A very prominent head, enormous veins… If the Colossus were green, I’d have called it a “Hulk cock”… As it is, let’s stick with a creature along the lines of a giant or a cyclops…

Texture and materials
The Colossus sleeve is made from VixSkin, a skin-like material made entirely from silicone (so it’s body-safe).
I’ve already told you all about this material, which is unique to Vixen Creations, in my review of the Goodfella. It’s soft and squishy, with different textures in different areas, and remarkably realistic to the touch.

The Colossus sleeve is much softer than the Goodfella, which is already very pliable. The tip is just as “squishy” as the head of a human penis, and the rest is soft and flexible.
As for precautions: use water-based lubricants only (and you’re going to need a lot of lube!), as silicone-based lubricants can damage VixSkin sex toys.
Using it
Putting on the penis sleeve
The sleeve is best slipped over an already erect penis. A semi-hard one might do, but since the sleeve dulls the wearer’s sensations, it’s more practical to start with a cock that’s already hard.
Let’s put the Colossus on the Goodfella…
You put it on much like you would a sock (Putting a sock on your penis? Eh? What? Why? Anyway… You know what I mean, and that’s the important thing), then slip the sleeve’s strap behind the testicles (leaving the balls out in the open).

How it feels, from the vagina’s point of view
When I sized up the Colossus after Him had put it on his penis, I was sceptical: I’d bitten off more than I could chew; there was no way this thing would fit. But then, it’s a bit like ordering too much food at a restaurant: even if you’re not sure you’ll manage it all, you give it a go and try to fit it in anyway.
Anyway, we gave it a go, starting very gently.
With enough arousal and lube, it fits
The verdict: with some help beforehand, and then throughout, from an ultra-powerful clitoral vibrator like the Europe Magic Wand or Fairy Turbo, to get me worked up enough to be completely relaxed, and a generous amount of lubricant, it fits, and it doesn’t hurt. No doubt that’s thanks to the sleeve’s very soft and flexible texture: a “conventional” silicone sex toy of similar shape and size would be completely unusable for me.

Intense sensations
It’s an intense experience: while my partner is penetrating me wearing the Colossus, I can’t stay away from the vibrator for long without things becoming uncomfortable… So, between the Fairy-like vibrations and the size of the penis now transformed into a Hulk cock, I find myself having orgasm after orgasm…
I was surprised that my partner managed to come despite the sleeve being a good half-centimetre thick… And to think so many people complain about how thick condoms are; this is one hell of a johnny! I think that here, too, it’s down to the VixSkin’s texture (and the fact that the sleeve is well made), which means the Colossus doesn’t completely wipe out the wearer’s sensations (even though, inevitably, it dulls them), and so delays the male orgasm rather than preventing it.

The Colossus is a really fun sex toy to use.
It’s not a model with modest internal dimensions: it’s designed for average-sized cocks. That’s a cool thing to point out, because most sleeves seem to be designed to compensate for a small dick; as a result, when nature blesses us with a normal-sized or impressive penis, the choice of “compatible” sleeves is very, very limited.
Another really nice thing, as She pointed out above, is that the soft, squishy silicone means you can feel some sensations. Don’t get me wrong, I’m not saying it’s physically ideal, but I’d compare it more to an incredibly thick condom (really, really thick, admittedly) than to a “rigid” sleeve. Again, don’t misunderstand me: it does block most of the sensations, I’m not denying that, but I expected it to be much worse and was pleasantly surprised.
The realistic aspect (there’s realistic, and then there’s realistic, I’ll grant you, but still) probably makes it easier to (not having tried another penis sleeve, I don’t have anything to compare it with) “make it your own” during sex. Perhaps more so than if it were a rigid, fluorescent-blue “sleeve”.
In short, I really liked it, and although we don’t use it often, we do use it regularly, and it’s always great fun.
Conclusion on the Colossus by Vixen Creations
The good points:
- Being able to try, now and then, what it’s like to have a giant penis for a bit of sex / do things with said mega-phallus is incredibly amusing and exciting… And for the person being penetrated, intense sensations are guaranteed!
- VixSkin is a fantastic material: 100% silicone, so body-safe, with a really lovely, realistic texture.
The bad points:
- The Colossus is huge, so it won’t suit everyone on the receiving end.
