The Glow and Beyond Lovehoney is a sex toy that looks like a Sailor Moon wand. Indeed, the handle of this beautiful phosphorescent glass dildo is shaped like a crescent moon. And when you turn off the lights, it glows in the dark, emitting an enchanting greenish glow.
Of course, I was itching to get my hands (and more) on this particular sex toy.
Here’s my review of the Glow and Beyond Lovehoney phosphorescent glass dildo.
Sex toy packaging
As for the packaging, nothing particularly exciting: the sex toy comes in a small cardboard box. It’s plain, and you’ll bin it very quickly, but the whole thing is well enough packed to protect the dildo from damage during delivery.
A fabric case is provided for storage.
The look of the Glow and Beyond
The Glow and Beyond is translucent, with very subtle green reflections. In the dark, the glow it emits is green. For it to glow in the dark, it needs to be exposed to light beforehand. It’s worth noting that it doesn’t need to be placed in full sunlight; a simple lamp is enough. You can see tiny bubbles within the glass, which is rather pretty.

The sex toy is around twenty centimetres long, of which fourteen are insertable. It is straight, but with undulations along its length, forming three “bulbs”. Then there’s its handle, which is wider, making the dildo suitable for anal penetration. A glass moon sits on top of it.
Texture and material
First of all, in case you’re wondering, a quick reminder about phosphorescence: no, a phosphorescent sex toy is not radioactive. Unless it dates from the late nineteenth or early twentieth century, you have nothing to worry about on that front. Phosphorescent objects currently on the market are, as far as we know, completely harmless (if you ever come across something that seems to glow in a really suspicious way, just check that it eventually stops emitting light after a while in the dark, and you’ll have your answer).
Like all glass sex toys, the Glow and Beyond is perfect for temperature play. Place it under the tap, under hot or cold water depending on your mood, and you’ll have access to some delicious sensations. Moreover, its particularly smooth surface allows it to glide easily, and it requires only a small amount of lubricant. It is also compatible with all types of lubricants.

Using the Glow and Beyond
The shape of the Glow and Beyond isn’t specifically designed for G-spot stimulation, but you can easily reach it by tilting the sex toy forward during vaginal penetration.
For anal use, it’s very pleasant to insert each of the bulbs one by one, slowly and gradually. It’s not too wide, nor too thin, and its surface glides to perfection. The handle allows you to hold it firmly, without it slipping out despite the lubrication, and also acts as a flange, preventing it from going too far – an essential safety feature for anal penetration with a sex toy.

Conclusion on the Glow and Beyond phosphorescent glass dildo
The good points:
- The Glow and Beyond is phosphorescent (and pretty, and original)!
- It’s a glass dildo, with all the advantages of this material.
- It’s not very expensive (around forty euros).
The bad points:
- Not much to flag on the downside, other than the fact that apart from its quirky look, it’s a fairly standard sex toy, with no innovative features, which may not be to everyone’s taste.
