The French Kiss lubricant, from JoyDivision, is mainly aimed at use during oral sex.
It is labelled “edible”, and is fruit-flavoured – lemon, for the version we tested, but it is also available in strawberry and raspberry.
Here is the review of the French Kiss lubricant by JoyDivision.
Packaging
The French Kiss lubricant comes in a tube, rather like hand cream.
This tube fits in a medium-sized handbag. It seals airtightly, by clicking its cap, and doesn’t open on its own. The packaging is therefore easy to carry.
The capacity is 75 mL, priced at just under 6 euros for the lemon version (on which Sextoys-Addict has a discount), and around 10 euros for the other two flavours. In short: a price-to-quantity ratio in line with the average for lubricants.
You’ll notice the presence of a logo bearing the mention “lebensmittel qualität” (“food quality” in German), as well as a diagram showing a glass and a fork. For a lubricant, it’s rather unusual to see this…. Well, I assume this symbol means that ingesting this product poses no danger… But if at the restaurant, I’m served a plate of pasta covered in a thick layer of lubricant, I’d run off.
The product is made in Germany.
Appearance and texture
The French Kiss lubricant is transparent, and rather fluid.
Scent and taste
It smells like lemon, a bit synthetic, like lemon sweets. This smell is rather pleasant, but when I first discovered it, I was a bit scared I’d be dealing with a substance that tastes like Paic Lemon.
Fortunately, a pleasant surprise: the taste is exactly the same as that of lemon toothpaste. No washing-up liquid flavour in sight.
You certainly wouldn’t gulp it down for pleasure, but it’s a flavour you’re used to in your mouth; it isn’t cloying.
Composition of the French Kiss lubricant
The ingredient list for the French Kiss lubricant is very short: “Aqua, Glycerin, Sodium lactate, Hydroethylcellulose, Aroma”.
From this composition, we should note that:
- It is a water-based lubricant, so it is compatible with condoms (this is also stated on the packaging) and sextoys.
- It contains no parabens or other dodgy substances.
- However, it contains glycerine, a substance very common in lubricants, but which, during vaginal use, may promote the onset of yeast infections in people who are prone to them.
Use
In use, the French Kiss lubricant is pleasant. It doesn’t stick, and lubricates properly, without drying out too quickly.
Since its taste isn’t bad, it is completely suitable for use during oral sex, but it is also suitable for vaginal or anal penetration. Its lubricating power is decent, average for water-based lubricants, without being exceptional.
It washes off easily, on the first rinse.

Conclusion on the French Kiss lubricant by JoyDivision
The good points:
- This lubricant tastes good.
- It contains no parabens, or other toxic products.
- It washes off easily.
The bad points:
- Still, watch out for the glycerine if your vulva is sensitive.
Overall, even if it isn’t perfect, the French Kiss lubricant by JoyDivision is a nice product.
