The Plaisir de vivre shop offered us the chance to test a product of our choice from its catalogue. I wanted to try a rabbit, so we chose the Hedone Cupid, by the brand Odeco.
Here is the review of the Odeco Hedone Cupid rabbit.
Packaging
We received the parcel with a sachet of lubricant, another sachet of massage oil, and a condom.
The packaging consists of a case with a photo of the rabbit, and a cardboard box, rather pretty, but not very practical if you want to keep the sex toy inside, and probably not sturdy enough for long-term use. But a fabric case is included, which can hold the sex toy and its charger.
The sex toy
Appearance and materials
We chose the purple model. It is also available in pink or black.
The handle of the sex toy is made of hard plastic and has a ring shape for a better grip. The rest is made of silicone and is soft to the touch. It does not contain phthalates.
Like any rabbit, it consists of a part that can be inserted into the vagina, and a smaller part in contact with the clitoris. The latter is supple, allowing it to adapt, while the former is very rigid (a bit too much to my taste).
The Hedone Cupid has a total length of 18 cm. The longest arm has a maximum diameter of 3.5 cm.
Charging
We chose this particular rabbit because it comes with a charger. The charging time is around two hours, which seems perfectly reasonable. As for usage time, I didn’t calculate, but we were able to use it several times after that without any problem.
The charger plugs into the hard part, but is protected by silicone. You have to push a bit to get it to plug in, but I think that’s because it is waterproof. The port into which the charger plugs is well protected, which is a good sign.
Controls and vibrations
The Hedone Cupid is easy to use. It has three buttons on its handle.
The middle button lets you turn it on and off with a long press, and change the vibration mode. The plus and minus buttons above and below let you vary the intensity.
This rabbit has seven vibration modes that follow one another:
- Vaginal vibration
- Clitoral vibration
- Alternating short vaginal and clitoral vibrations
- Short vaginal vibrations
- Short vaginal vibrations and clitoral vibration
- Alternating long vaginal and clitoral vibrations
- Vaginal and clitoral vibration
Noise level
I don’t have any points of comparison with other rabbits, but I find the noise of this one is perfectly acceptable.
Admittedly, you can hear it when you’re in the same room, but there’s no need to worry about less immediate neighbours.
Use
As neither of us had ever tested a rabbit, my partner and I didn’t really have any expectations. The first attempt was a fiasco for both of us, so we quickly moved on to something else. Fortunately, our curiosity got the better of us a little later.
As for me, I got myself some lube and tried again, alone this time. I can’t deny that the Hedone Cupid provides pleasing sensations, the last two modes being the ones I preferred.
But the primary purpose of a rabbit, I think (and I don’t think I’m too wrong on that point), is to achieve one, or even several, orgasms, so it’s a failure for me. Using it as a rabbit, that is, with vaginal penetration, and clitoral stimulation, the vibrations are not strong enough, and not necessarily targeted enough to reach orgasm (even when trying to hold and direct the clitoral part). I managed to reach orgasm by using the vaginal part directly on my clitoris, which allowed me to control the vibrations better.
As for my partner, her second attempt was hardly any more successful. The vaginal part had no effect on her, and the other pressed too hard on her clitoris. Like me, she reached orgasm by using the Hedone Cupid as a ‘classic’ vibrator.
Conclusion
The good points:
- Easy to use
- Not very loud
- The very soft texture
- It is a pretty object
The bad points:
- The lack of power in the vibrations
- Clitoral stimulation is not effective with the part dedicated to it
This first rabbit trial was therefore not entirely successful, even though it remains pleasant to use.
