With this heat, now’s the perfect time to get comfy by the water and play a sexy card game, whether as a couple or with libertine friends…
But then again, between the sand and the splashing (if you’re spending the evening indoors, swap the above for “crisp packets and drinks” – it works just as well), there’s still a serious risk of wrecking this game, which looked so good. And which may well have cost you a fortune.
The Superposes game, by Rue des Lilas, has plastic cards. It’ll survive even the wettest activities without a scratch. Which, in itself, is already a good reason to give it a go.
Introduction to the Superposes game
Format
The Superposes game fits in the palm of your hand. It’s a pack of 40 cards, fairly standard in size.
A label and an Eiffel Tower on the box state that the game is made in France. Patriotic considerations aside, this means, in practice, that no one was exploited so that you could have it in your hands.
The version we received comes packaged in a pretty little cardboard box wrapped in a ribbon. But it’s also possible, at the same price, to buy the game in a canvas pouch, which will hold up better against anything wet.
As I mentioned in the intro, the cards are transparent plastic, so they don’t mind moisture, stickiness, or goo… Whether it’s water, sand, spilled drinks, lubricant, cervical fluid, or sperm. They’re flexible and rounded at the edges. They hold well in the hand and shuffle just as easily as regular playing cards.
On each card, a silhouette, representing a man or a woman, alone, in an evocative pose.
The players
A game of Superposes can be played with two or more.
It involves sexual acts at the end of the game, but before that, it’s all about miming…
So, skipping the final orgy, you can quite happily suggest a game to non-libertine friends, provided they’re open-minded. And above all, willing to mime sexual acts.
(“Tss, dignity is such a superfluous thing… Come on, let’s mime the three-headed seal position, we need someone who can do a handstand!”).
Rules of the Superposes game
At the start of the game, deal the cards to all players. The person starting the game places a first card on the table, to begin building a sexual scene.
In turn, each player tries to stack a card on the scene to complete it (hence the name of the game). Each new card must perform a sexual act with at least one of the cards already in place: kisses, penetration, a cunnilingus or a fellatio.
When a player can no longer stack a card on the scene, the round ends. The last player to place a card wins the round. All cards are removed from the table, and the winner starts a new scene.
From there, the game rules have a few vague elements. And others that you can tweak to your heart’s content, depending on what the participants fancy:
The strip-tease round
“At the end of each round, players remove a piece of clothing.”
For the shy ones, you can skip this stage. For the competitive types, you can decide that only the person who couldn’t place a card removes a piece of clothing. Or that only the winner keeps their clothes. And for those whose goal is to end up in the buff, you can all undress together.
The scene to mime
“And must mime the stacking chosen by the winner in the scene played.”
That can be fun too, if instead of letting the winner pick the challenge, you mime the stacking that the placed cards represent. By removing cards if necessary, or by using objects to represent missing participants, if the number of players isn’t sufficient.
It adds a challenge. Indeed, you’ll think twice before placing a card in a particularly acrobatic pose, knowing you’ll then have to figure out how to mime it.
The end of the game
At the end of the game, the winner picks their favourite stacking, and invites their partner to perform it with them.
If there are more than two players, the winner specifies who is invited to do what, and everyone has an orgy in high spirits. This conclusion is perfectly suited to a couple or a libertine evening.
The arrangement of the stages is quite logical: first you play cards to warm up, and then you fuck. That’s a good thing: many naughty games throw you straight into the action, then leave the excitement deflating like a soufflé. You can also skip this part if you’re just looking to have fun without doing anything sexual.
Conclusion on the Superposes game

The bad points:
- It’s not really a bad point, more of a suggestion, but it would be nice to have a version with more diversity in the silhouettes. For example, different hairstyles, sizes, and body types varying from one card to another.
