Minna Ola: Review of a Programmable Vibrator

le

Le Minna Ola est un vibro programmable. No doubt about it. The dream sex toy for nymphomaniac geek girls.

the Minna Ola, programmable vibrator

A “programmable” sex toy? That’s a bit vague. It could mean pretty much anything and everything. Programmable how? And above all, programmable to do what?

Let’s discover the Minna Ola and its features together in this review.

Sex toy packaging

The Minna Ola is packaged in a long cylindrical box, on which you can see an illustration of the toy, as well as a summary of its features.

Inside this box you’ll find the sex toy, its charger, a case, and its instruction manual, which is a little round booklet.

The storage case is made of light grey satin, very soft, and keeps the sex toy safe.

However, there isn’t enough room for the charger – but no manufacturer ever thinks of it ever. So we already appreciate that it comes with a little soft case.

The look of the Minna Ola

The model we received is fuchsia pink. The Minna Ola is also available in purple.

Minna Ola: a programmable vibrator

The shape of the sex toy vaguely resembles a large spoon. An elongated and slightly curved section that tapers, then, after a 120° angle, a short, rather rectangular section.

The vibrator is around twenty centimetres long. The part used for masturbation is its long, thin end. The length of the insertable part (I considered in my measurements that you stop right before the charger connection area) is 11 centimetres.

In the photos above, you can see the Minna Ola in the company of a small lighter.

Texture and material

The Minna Ola is made of silicone (the entire surface of the sex toy, of course except the area where you plug in the charger, which is made of ABS plastic / polycarbonate, with three small metal circles). So it contains no phthalates.

The toy is soft. It is firm, with the exception of a soft, even squishy (air-filled) area located on its curved section, on which you can apply pressure. It is this area that will allow you to programme the sex toy, by varying the pressure you apply to it.

Powering the Minna Ola

The Minna Ola is rechargeable.

Its charger is a transformer on which you plug a small piece covered in white plastic.

This part is magnetised, and attaches very easily to a spot on the sex toy (like Macbook power supplies, for example, for those who know).

Features: a programmable vibrator?

The Minna Ola has two raised buttons (one is a circle, hollow in the centre; the other, smaller, is a solid disc), as well as a pressure sensor (the soft area I described to you in the previous paragraph).

Turning on the Minna Ola

To turn on the Minna Ola, you press and hold the solid button. The sex toy responds, depending on the battery charge remaining: three pulses if its battery is full, two if it’s moderately charged, a single pulse, or none at all, if it’s time to recharge it.

To turn it off, you press and hold the same button again.

Programming the Minna Ola

The Minna Ola is, therefore, programmable. Which means, more concretely, that you can record a vibration sequence that it will play in a loop.

During recording, the soft area reacts instantaneously (truly without delay) to the pressure variations you apply to it: the harder you press, the more intense the vibrations. If you don’t press, the sex toy doesn’t vibrate. You create your “rhythms” this way.

In use, this recording feature turned out to be particularly well done! In fact, all you need to do is be in the right mode, which you enter by pressing the hollow button, and that’s it.

From there, the sex toy “listens” to the “rhythms” and pressure levels applied to the soft part and reproduces them continuously, in a rolling 12-second period (that’s the duration I was able to measure by timing it), or until you stop pressing.

The programmable vibrator Minna Ola

For example, if I press three times, once hard, then softly, then hard again, and let go, then, after a brief second of waiting (long enough for it to be sure you’re no longer making a “rhythm”), it will start on its own to repeat in a loop the sweet melody thus created: VRRR(hard) vrrrrrr(soft) VRRRR(hard), VRRRR(hard) vrrrrr(soft) VRRRR(hard) …

If I now want to change the rhythm, with no other action needed, I start pressing again in the desired way, and I stop so it can “play” it. If my rhythmic performance lasts more than 12 seconds, the toy will retain the last 12 seconds. And I know, I’m repeating myself, it will play them on its own as soon as I stop fiddling with its sensor.

It’s also worth noting that the sensitivity is quite good and highly precise (it reproduces very, very fine pressure variations).

Fun or annoying?

All of this is, in my opinion, very well thought out because, first of all, the sex toy vibrates during and according to the pressure when you’re programming it, which makes said programming very intuitive. Then, it’s bewilderingly simple, since no button needs to be memorised or aimed at, no need to “start” the recording, or stop it, or play it, etc… Everything happens on its own.

In short: This is a feature that could have been feared for its “killjoy” side. Getting all geeky trying to programme your sex toy during the action is so-so. But in fact, that’s not the case: it’s a real pleasure to programme the toy.

All this is very nice, but there’s still the fateful question: does it bring a real plus for my fanny?

Using the Minna Ola

The “handle” of this odd spoon is therefore the part you bring into contact with your intimate areas. It works just as well for clitoral stimulation as for vaginal penetration.

Clitoral stimulation

If the vibration modes aren’t predefined and are created on demand, that doesn’t in any way diminish the power of the device. At full throttle (that is, if you’ve “programmed” it by pressing hard on the odd soft spoon), once placed on the clitoris, it allows you to reach orgasm very quickly.

We’re not in the territory of the ultra-powerful vibrators, like the Body Wand, for example, but it’s quite decent.

Vaginal stimulation

The curved shape of the toy allows it to easily reach the area, located at the front of the vagina, that we associate with the “G-spot”. In reality, it’s the internal part of the clitoris, which is much bigger than it lets on.

Conclusion on the Minna Ola

With the Minna Ola, we love:

  • The ability to record sequences: it’s not very sexual, but it’s innovative, really engaging and fun.
  • The power of its vibrations. It’s fun, yes, but it doesn’t take our erogenous zones for a joke.
  • Its design, which is unconventional.

A flaw? If you get easily distracted, you risk finding yourself using it as a rhythm box rather than a sex toy. Which, in fact, isn’t all that serious, and won’t stop you from using it five minutes later.

Apart from that, I can’t see any. Not that it’s perfect, of course: certain things here and there could be improved to make it a better sex toy. But I haven’t found any particular flaw.

Verdict: the Minna Ola, a programmable sex toy

The Minna Ola is a very playful sex toy. And it has good reason to be. Knowing how to combine pleasure and play is one of the first things you expect from a sex toy. Otherwise, we wouldn’t call it a “toy”. But it also has vibrations that are quite worthy of interest.

Its very playful aspect can, in my opinion, be very well suited to people wanting to acquire a first sex toy. Provided they’re willing to spend a certain budget.

For my part, I really, really don’t agree with people who advise starting with a mediocre gadget in terms of effectiveness. Vibrating ducks, just splash about instead of disappointing the ladies! Just because it’s a first experience doesn’t mean you have to waste it.

But it’s also very pleasant to discover and use if you’re used to sex toys. Indeed, it changes in terms of use with its fun and playful side, without disappointing on the vibrations or the shape, and therefore the sensations.
