We received a rather slapdash email from Fun Factory, addressed to a Mr with a feminine version of my first name, give or take a few letters. The email offered us the chance to test “the first pulsator for men, for deep anal stimulation that’ll blow your mind” (eh?) ahead of its release: the Stronic Zwei.
The Zwei is the successor to the Stronic Eins, which I had the chance to test.
Stronic, you say? I immediately stopped nit-picking about the email’s semantic quality and rushed to reply.
I loved the Stronic Eins and its powerful, original pulsations, and the Stronic Zwei is a new model based on the same concept. I don’t care whether it’s for men, women or mutant kangaroos; I’m the one who’s going to test it.
The Fun Factory sex toy pouch
The gadget, without its original packaging, was in a Fun Factory pouch.
As promised in its description, this pouch really is odourless. Its zip looks sturdy, and the fabric seems fairly waterproof. When you splash it (I did say “splash”, not “soak”, eh?), the water doesn’t get through, so the sex toy stays dry.
It sells for 6 euros on the Fun Factory website, and I can’t recommend it or advise against it. Well, it’s a pouch, isn’t it? A sex toy pouch.
Fun Factory spoiled us: someone had also slipped a charger into the pouch.
The Click & Charge, a charger compatible with all rechargeable Fun Factory vibrators released so far, is sold separately. I’ve already told you about it here and here.
And in the box we also found — how classy, for a geek girl who loves sex toys like me — a little Fun Factory USB drive containing a small press kit: images, videos and logos related to the Stronic ZWEI.
The sex toy
Appearance
The shape of the Stronic Zwei is rather abstract. It makes me think of a joystick, with its curved head that looks made for resting your thumb on and firing (no pun intended).
The model we received is blue, but it also comes in black.
Texture and materials
The Stronic ZWEI is made of pure silicone, “medical grade”, we’re told.
It’s made from the same material as the Stronic EINS, but the distribution of the “squishy” areas is different. The EINS has a fairly uniform texture, whereas the ZWEI has areas that are noticeably softer than others, particularly its tip and base (as they’re further away from the sex toy’s rigid central axis).
Noise level
As with the Stronic EINS: the Stronic ZWEI’s noise level is perfectly reasonable. To get an idea of the sort of sound it makes, shake a cardboard box of medicine in your hand and you’ll get the same kind of noise.
Controls
The Stronic ZWEI has the same controls as its predecessor: three buttons: “Fun”, “+” and “-”.
- “Fun” switches the sex toy on (press and hold) and off (short press).
- “+” and “-” let you select a vibration mode.
- The sex toy switches on in the fourth mode. From there, you can either go backwards with the “-” button to access three other modes, or forwards with the “+” button to access six others.
- The modes don’t loop: when you reach the last vibration mode, pressing “+” won’t take you back to the first one (and likewise, when you reach the first mode, pressing “-” again leaves you on the first mode).
Modes
The Stronic ZWEI has ten modes, then, which are the same as those on the EINS:
When switched on, it’s set to a regular pulsation mode, which is the slowest mode.
Going forwards (“+”), you find three more regular modes at a constant intensity. Called Samba, Rumble and Quicky, they get progressively faster.
Going further forwards (“+”), you come across three more fanciful rhythms:
- Roller Ball: At a constant intensity, this mode starts with slow pulsations. It then suddenly speeds up, becoming very fast. Then it gradually slows down again.
- Vienna Waltz: In this constant-frequency mode, the power gradually increases until it reaches a peak, then drops straight back to its minimum level.
- Rumba: At a constant intensity, this mode switches without warning between periods of slow and fast pulsations.
If you go back to the starting point and then backwards (“-”), you’ll find three new “little wave” modes (Rattle, Gallop and Dirty Dancing), alternating between very low-intensity and strong pulsations.
Using it
Well. There, now I can boast that I’ve tested a prostate stimulator. Spot the mistake.
Clitoral use
Stronic and clitoris couldn’t care less about each other. I realised that when testing the Stronic Eins, and I’m not even going to try with the Zwei. But you can hardly hold that against this anal sex toy.
Vaginal use
Admittedly, the Stronic ZWEI has a very wide base, so it can be inserted into the anus without any risk of it thinking it’s a little exploring mole and getting stuck up your arse. In practice, with a sex toy that hasn’t been designed to be bum-proof, the risk in question is pretty low if you don’t do anything stupid, but still, it can’t hurt to take precautions.
Admittedly, its curved tip ought to be able to stimulate the prostate when used on a man.
But defining it as a sex toy exclusively for male anal play is simply a marketing choice on Fun Factory’s part.
The Zwei is a respectable size. It’s smaller than the Eins, which is rather large, but it’s still a “phallic” size, and its curved shape could also prove interesting for vaginal stimulation.
It doesn’t feel like being penetrated by a penis
Someone will have to explain this whole thing about the supposedly similar sensations produced by the Stronic Eins and those felt when a male partner penetrates you. What species of male partner are we talking about? A human penis doesn’t pulse. Or perhaps they’ve been keeping this terrible secret from me.
I have the same opinion of the Stronic Zwei. Admittedly, the sex toy moves back and forth. But this has nothing to do with the movements you make with a penis, or a dildo worn as a “penis” in a harness, or a Feeldoe, to penetrate a partner. The movement is much less wide, and even on the slowest mode, the pace is much faster.
What’s more, the Zwei is really not shaped like a cock. That changes quite a lot about the sensations.
Insertion: use lube
The Zwei is easier to insert than the Stronic Eins. But unless you’re already in the mood, lube is still essential.
G-spot stimulation
I mainly used the Zwei alongside a vibrator on my clit, which is what I often do when using a sex toy intended for vaginal stimulation.
The ZWEI’s “prostate-proof” shape turns out to be pretty good at stimulating the female “G-spot”. Its head presses against this area in time with the pulsations, applying pressure that is softened by the flexible texture of the thick silicone layer.
Anal use
I don’t have a prostate (we’d guessed as much), and He has some reservations about sex toys specifically intended to stimulate this organ. So I can’t tell you whether the Stronic Zwei pleasantly stimulates the prostate.
But I do have a “G-spot”, or an internal part of the clit, depending on your philosophy of the pussy, and an arse. So I don’t have to think for long about where I can stick the Zwei.
The Eins was too intimidating for me to bring anywhere near my backside. On top of that, its instructions had a logo saying “keep that thing away from your bum!“.
Insertion: relax and use lube
Although the ZWEI is made to get along with anuses, I still wouldn’t recommend it to anyone looking for a very small sex toy to try anal penetration. It’s not huge, but it’s not all that small either.
The Stronic ZWEI goes in with a little lube, once you’ve relaxed and got yourself in the mood with a bit of foreplay with a partner, a helping hand or a vibrator. Personally, I appreciated having the Fairy Mini to help me out with this. I also gave myself a hand.
It’s better to insert it switched off, then turn it on. I tried the other way round at first, but my arse got scared. I have to say, the thing wriggles quite a lot, which is pretty impressive.
Once it was switched off, though, my arse was reassured and I didn’t have any particular difficulties.
I positioned it with its curved head pointing forwards, so it would press against my G-spot. In a man, the prostate / “P-spot” / “male G-spot” is more or less in the same direction relative to the anus, towards the front. So the instructions are the same.
Sex toy that’s still, or almost
At first, I decided to leave the ZWEI “still” (if you can use that word for an object that’s “pulsing”), or at least to leave it in place without moving it by hand, like a sort of pulsating anal plug. It stays in place like this without needing to be held. The sex toy narrows a little just before its base, and the anus tends to contract around that area, stopping the object from “escaping” (ah, vibrators trying to make a getaway while you’re using them, those damn sly little things we don’t call out nearly often enough…).
For anal stimulation, I definitely prefer the three regular modes at a constant intensity, accessed via the “+” button (“Samba“, “Rumble” and “Quicky”).
More active use
I then tried using the Stronic ZWEI more actively. I grabbed its handle and started moving it back and forth, angling it a little to target my G-spot more precisely.
The result was convincing. I won’t count the resulting orgasms as being exclusively down to the Stronic ZWEI, since the Fairy helped out, but the internal stimulation is certainly very intense and pleasurable. I conclude that, like its big brother, the Stronic ZWEI is a sex toy that benefits from being manhandled if you want to discover its full potential and enjoy it.
Conclusion on the Fun Factory Stronic Zwei
The good points:
- The same pulsations as the Stronic EINS, in a more versatile sex toy that can stimulate the anus and the vagina.
- It looks good, its material is safe, and it’s generally well designed, with no flaws. It’s clearly a good-quality item, with its design and ergonomics carefully thought through down to the smallest detail.
The bad points:
- The only slightly off-putting thing about the Stronic Zwei isn’t the object itself: it’s the price. 149 euros, with the charger and storage not included. For a quality item, certainly, but it still makes you think twice before buying.
As for those (impressive) pulsations, I invite you to watch the video we made for the Stronic EINS, since the pulsations are the same (sorry, we’re being a bit lazy this time). You can watch it on our YouTube channel or in the Stronic EINS review.
I don’t think the Stronic Zwei is a sex toy reserved for men, or even one intended solely for anal pleasure.
Between the two Stronics, I prefer the Zwei to the Eins, because it’s more versatile and a more modest size. Even though I like the Stronic EINS too.
So I’d recommend it without hesitation to women, men and mutant kangaroos. Although, maybe not to mutant kangaroos.
