Filare Lora DiCarlo: a cunnilingus simulator with rotating balls

le

The Filare Lora DiCarlo is a sextoy that attempts to imitate the sensations of cunnilingus, thanks to two rotating balls that dance beneath its silicone surface. In short, its principle seems fairly similar to that of the Lelo Ora, but far more refined.

Filare Lora DiCarlo

Lora DiCarlo had received an Innovation Award at CES 2019 for her robotic vibrator, the Osé. The award had been revoked, her product having been deemed obscene and indecent. But in the face of public outrage, the Consumer Technology Association ultimately reinstated it. The brand was once again nominated at CES 2020, for two new sextoys, the Onda and the Baci, which we will also be testing soon. Here is my review of the Filare Lora DiCarlo.

The sextoy’s packaging

The Filare’s packaging is genuinely classy. A small cardboard box thick, with a clever opening mechanism, it looks really well presented.

It’s worth noting, however, a small “Made in China” on the packaging: LoraDiCarlo products are designed in the USA, but made in China. Many rather upscale brands (Lelo, We Vibe, Womanizer, for example) rely on manufacturing in China, so it’s hardly surprising.

A storage case in fabric is included. It’s a canary yellow, which is a refreshing change from the traditional black satin cases that come with most sex toys that are lucky enough to have one.

Look of the Filare Lora DiCarlo

The Filare Lora DiCarlo is a petrol blue, a rather dark shade between blue, green and grey. Its colour is quite reminiscent of the Fun Factory Limba Flex, which we recently tested.

Unboxing the Filare Lora DiCarlo

It fits in the palm of your hand, with a rather well-thought-out ergonomic shape, as its two control buttons land right under your fingertips. fingertips. The other side of the sex toy is fairly flat, except for two balls whose shape can be made out beneath its ‘skin’.

Texture and materials

The part of the Filare that comes into contact with the body is covered in a sort of ‘skin’ made of very soft silicone. The sex toy is rigid, but around the two balls, you can feel a dip beneath the surface — the toy’s ‘skin’ is lifted by the balls as they pass through. As for the side with its controls, it’s made of rigid plastic.

Powering the Filare Lora DiCarlo

The Filare is rechargeable , via a cable resembling the Click & Charge Fun Factory, or the charger for the Satisfyer. This cable has two metal ‘pucks’ that magnetically attach to connectors on the sex toy. It plugs into a USB. I didn’t time the charging duration or the usage time, but I didn’t notice any issues on that front, and the battery seems capable of holding its charge for quite a long time.

Controls and modes

The Filare has three buttons:

  • A large round button, which lights up when pressed, is used toturn on orturn off the sextoy.
  • A long oval button, with “+” and “-” signs at its ends, is used to adjust the speed of the rotating balls.
  • And finally, another oval button, a bit shorter, allows you to choose their direction of rotation. In fact, the two balls can, at your choice, rotate in a single direction or alternate between rotating one way, then the other.

Using the Filare Lora DiCarlo

A nice detail, the shape of the Filare is really very ergonomic to hold in the hand. You’d think you were dealing with a computer mouse. Having placed the sextoy next to my keyboard while I’m writing this review, I’ve repeatedly and instinctively confused it with my mouse, foolishly wondering why the cursor wasn’t moving. moving. The rotation of the balls under the sextoy’s skin provides a pleasant, deep massage. It still doesn’t really feel like a cunnilingus, but the sensations are considerably more interesting than those provided by the Lelo Ora. In fact, the Filare has two balls, bigger than the Ora’s single little nub, and I can modulate the speed and direction of rotation to my liking, in short, it’s much better put together. However, the Filare doesn’t allow me to achieve orgasms. But it’s not frustrating for all that. It’s really a sort of clitoral massage, a foreplay that helps to get aroused gently before moving on to another type of stimulation.

Conclusion on the Filare Lora DiCarlo

Pros:

  • The massaging effect of the spinning balls is very well done. It’s pleasant and exciting.
  • Its shape is ergonomic and well designed to fit in the palm of the hand and to access the controls easily and intuitively.
  • Overall, the quality is good, and the presentation is very well done.

Cons:

  • It doesn’t deliver any orgasms.
  • Well, we’ll forgive it for that, given that no sextoy has truly managed to pull it off so far, but it still doesn’t really feel like a cunnilingus.

Les plus

  • Well-done massaging effect
  • Ergonomic shape
  • Good quality

Les moins

  • No orgasms
  • Doesn't feel like cunnilingus
  • High price

The sensations provided by the Filare are genuinely different, with a effect that’s very well done. The stimulation it provides isn’t designed to send you over the top straight away, but it remains very pleasant nonetheless. The stimulation it provides isn’t designed to send you over the top straight away, but it remains very pleasant nonetheless. It’s an interesting sextoy if you already own others and are looking to vary the effects. If you’re into slow, gentle caresses, this toy might just be the one for you. On the other hand, if you’re looking for your first sextoy, or a toy that’s mind-blowing and lets you string together orgasms that could wake up the whole neighbourhood, the Filare probably won’t be your holy grail.
