Missionary
Coming in first place among the most searched sexual positions on XHamster: missionary.
But actually, why “missionary”?
According to legend, the acrobatic sex practices of the peoples they were trying to convert would have scandalised Christian missionaries. They supposedly decreed that the only proper way to carry out one’s marital duty was to lie horizontal, face to face, with the man on top of the woman. The locals would have laughed their arses off, and incidentally gave the famous position its name.
However, it’s just a legend. In reality, the missionary position owes its name to the reports of Alfred Kinsey, a pioneer of sexology. He simply misinterpreted some historical documents, thus inventing this story.
Andromache and Amazon
In second and third place, Andromache and Amazon are neck and neck. It has to be said that these two positions are often confused, as in both the man is lying down and the woman is on top. Doggy style only comes in fourth place among porn searches. It’s supposedly the French people’s favourite sexual position, though.
