The Sextoys-Addict shop sent us several sexual stimulants from the brand Jo. In the parcel were the Nipple Titillator, the Clitoral Gel, the G-Spot Tingling Gel and the clitoral stimulant Jo Volt.
Jo is an American brand of lubricants and sexual stimulants, all of whose products are labelled “Made in USA”. Their formulations are, overall, rather reassuring.
We also recently tested the Jo Organic organic lubricant, which we really liked.
As the Jo sexual stimulants share many characteristics, we have combined their reviews in this article.
The Jo Nipple Titillator
The Jo Nipple Titillator comes in a 30-millilitre bottle.
This bottle has a pump button, which allows you to measure the amount dispensed fairly precisely. A cap sits over the nozzle, which prevents accidental spills, for example if you keep it in a handbag.

I pour a little into the palm of my hand: it’s pink, it looks like strawberry toothpaste, and it has roughly the same consistency.

Smell and taste
I sniff: it smells like a strawberry sweet, a bit synthetic, but the smell is pleasant.
I dip a finger in it and place it on my tongue. Two roughly simultaneous reactions: “ouch, it stings my tongue!” and “hmm, it’s not bad, it tastes like strawberry”. And then, it’s cool.
If I try to compare it to known flavours: on first impression, strawberry-pepper, and then, mint toothpaste.
Composition
The ingredient list for the Jo Nipple Titillator is long, very long.
Among these:
- No parabens, nor any other well-known dubious ingredients, which is a plus.
- Sugar derivatives (glycerine and sucralose), so you can’t repurpose it for genital use.
- A large number of plant extracts (including mint extracts).
- Various food-grade emulsifiers.
Overall, this formulation is rather reassuring, even if I admit that faced with such a multitude of ingredients, I didn’t have the courage to take the time to look up each one in detail.
Effect
As its name suggests, the Nipple Titillator is a gel designed to stimulate the nipples. I apply some to the area in question, and end up with a translucent pink layer of product on the nipple tips. Visually, it looks like lip gloss, with a slight shine.

The effect isn’t instantaneous: at first, you don’t notice much, it’s just cool and wet. A few seconds later, a warm sensation and little tingles set in.
This sensation is particularly pleasant during play with nipple clamps.
As you spread more of the product, the effect eventually fades after a few minutes.
The Jo Clitoral Gel
The Jo Clitoral Gel comes in a 10-millilitre tube, which is itself kept in a cardboard box.
When opening the tube for the first time, after removing its cap, you need to cut through a small plastic seal. Best to make sure you have proper scissors nearby at that point. As for me, I struggled with a knife and an olive pick to get this damned tube open.
The product is quite runny, and rather oily.
Smell and taste
The Jo Clitoral Gel smells of mint: the smell is noticeable, but not unpleasant.
The substance isn’t meant to be eaten, but I tasted it anyway, for science: it’s mentholated and greasy, nothing gross, but I wouldn’t call the taste “good” either.
Composition
The ingredients you can read on its tube are as follows:
- Several silicone oils: Polydimethylsiloxane, Decamethylcyclopentasiloxane, Octamethylcyclotetrasiloxane, Dimethylsiloxane.
- Peppermint.
- Capsicum oleoresin, the active ingredient that gives chilli its spicy kick.
Effect
The Jo Clitoral Gel is available in four strength levels, from the lightest to the most concentrated: Light, Mild, Wild, Atomic. We tested the Wild version.
The stimulating effect of the Jo Clitoral Gel is that of a fairly standard warm-cold gel. Like most sexual stimulants.
Because the product is oily, it also lubricates. That’s a good thing, as it softens friction against the clitoris. On the other hand, it increases the risk of stains and makes it harder to wash off.
The G-Spot Tingling Gel
The packaging of the Jo G-Spot Tingling Gel is the same as that of the Clitoral Gel, only the colours and text differ.
The G-Spot Tingling Gel is also quite runny and oily, perhaps even a little more so than the Clitoral Gel.
Smell and taste
The Jo G-Spot Tingling Gel is almost odourless.
As for taste: so-so, it tastes like lightly scented oil. But you’re not meant to eat it anyway.
Composition
The ingredient list consists of:
- Four types of silicone oils: Cyclopentasiloxane, Cyclotetrasiloxane, Dimethiconol, Dimethincone. Presumably, these substances pose no danger to the skin: the only thing commonly pointed out about them is that they pollute the environment.
- Menthol: that’s where the “tingling” effect comes from.
Effect
The G-Spot Tingling Gel comes in two versions, Mild and Wild. We tested the Wild version, the one with the strongest intensity.
The effect is perceptible, but remains very light. Like the Clitoral Gel, it’s a “warm-cold” sensation, but much softer.
The Jo Volt clitoral stimulant
The Jo Volt clitoral stimulant is very well presented. Packaging with a rather original design, based on cut-outs in the cardboard, on which the product name is subtitled “arousing tingling serum” (“arousing tingling serum”).
After removing the first layer that makes up its packaging, you can read, in red on a red background, “Meet your new best friend”. You open it, and discover the bottle, snugly placed in the centre of the box.
Well, on the other hand, it’s not very big, my new best mate. With only five millilitres, it had better be used sparingly.
In the bottle, the liquid is yellow, but when you pour a few drops onto your finger, it appears transparent. It’s quite runny, very slightly more viscous than water, but not as much as lubricant. It’s not greasy.
Smell
This smell rings a bell… Cologne, perhaps? It makes me think of citronella and lavender, but the product contains neither lavender nor citronella. Anyway, it smells of plants, and not of mint, as most of the clitoral “warm/cold” stimulants you generally find do.
Composition
Oleic alcohol, a substance that is presumably harmless and allows emulsions to be made, and various plant extracts, including olive oil. No dubious ingredients: no parabens, no glycerine, no petroleum derivatives. No mentholated compounds either, which is quite rare for a stimulating product.
Effect
The Jo Volt comes in three versions, with different intensities: 6 v, 9 v and 12 v. We received the 12 v version.
When applied to the clitoris, it’s effective, even very effective, and very different from a “warm-cold” gel. Sensations are very clearly amplified, and it clearly shortens the time it takes to reach orgasm. As the Jo Volt has no lubricating effect, applying a little lubricant to the clit beforehand can make it more comfortable to use.
A word to sensitive clits: if your clit tends to overreact to stimulating products, choose a lower intensity than “12 v”, so as not to jump through the roof.
According to a label on the packaging, the effects of this product “can last up to 45 minutes”. But if you want to get rid of it before the stated time limit, all you have to do is take a shower.
Conclusion on the Jo sexual stimulants
To sum up our opinion on the Jo sexual stimulants:
- The Nipple Titillator: it’s a nice, original product, it smells good, and it’s fun to use.
- The Clitoral Gel: it’s a fairly standard clitoral stimulating gel, with no parabens or glycerine. As for sensations, it’s not the most original, but if you like mentholated warm-cold stimulants, this is a perfectly recommendable specimen.
- The G-Spot Tingling Gel: resembles the Clitoral Gel a lot, with a softer effect.
- The Arousing Tingling Serum: a very effective product, much more effective than a mentholated stimulating gel. But even so, the bottle is small.
