The Lovehoney Heart Pounder dildo caught my eye as soon as I spotted it in the shop’s catalogue. A beautiful translucent silicone sex toy, with little pink hearts seeming to float inside. Testing this dildo was an absolute must!
What’s more, it has a suction cup, which lets it stand upright. But is this little marvel of originality really worth a closer look? Or does this dildo have some hidden flaws?
To find out, I hurried to give it a try.
Sex toy packaging
The Heart Pounder dildo arrives in a cardboard box, without a scrap of plastic. Inside this rather eco-friendly packaging is a simple folded piece of cardboard, which is enough to hold the sex toy in place. As for the look, there’s a photo of the sex toy, along with Lovehoney’s heart logo. It’s very pink, but not vulgar.
What the Lovehoney Heart Pounder dildo looks like
The base of the sex toy is a circular, fluorescent pink suction cup . The body of the dildo, on the other hand, looks really unusual. It’s translucent, almost transparent. Inside are little pink hearts, which were probably poured into the silicone during moulding. They seem to float, but remain motionless, as if suspended in time. The result is very pretty.
It has a phallic shape, with a well-defined head. If we were to place it on a penis size scale, it would fall into the “long and slim” category. It measures 18 centimetres long, with a diameter of 3.5 centimetres. Its shape is curved.
Texture and materials
Translucent silicone sex toys are rather rare. But they do exist. The Jimmyjane Hello Touch, a finger vibrator we tested some time ago, raised the suspicions of the Dildology association, so they had it analysed. The verdict: the entirely innocent device was made of silicone, with not a single additive.
And the Heart Pounder isn’t some dodgy mix with a vague percentage of silicone and all sorts of nasties, either. It really is made of pure silicone.
As for the texture, it’s smooth and fairly firm. It also doesn’t attract too much dust.
Putting the Heart Pounder dildo to the test
With its wide, flat base, which can act as a stopper, the Heart Pounder allows for safe anal penetration. Of course, like all dildos, it’s also suitable for vaginal penetration. And it fits perfectly in a harness with a ring attachment system.
Is it a good suction-cup dildo?
The base of the dildo has a little rectangular tab. You can pull this tab with two fingers. A little air then gets underneath the suction cup, allowing you to remove it without any effort.
This rather clever system is an excellent idea. After enjoying a suction-cup dildo, I’ve often found myself having to wrestle the thing off its improvised perch like a raging bear, pulling with all my might to get it unstuck. And when you’re trying to keep things at least a little sexy, let’s face it, having to struggle with a stubborn sex toy that refuses to come off the floor or table is a bit of a downer.
With this one, there’s no post-play hassle in store. To free the dildo, all it takes is the tiniest movement.
And yet, while you’re using it, the dildo’s grip is impeccable. It stays upright on a flat surface just as well as it sticks to a vertical one. If you enjoy sex in the shower or bath, go for it—you’ll love playing with the Heart Pounder!
How effective is the Heart Pounder dildo?
The Heart Pounder is fairly slim, which makes for easy insertion; just add a touch of lube to make penetration more comfortable.
Its curved shape and pronounced head make for effective G-spot stimulation. However, the texture is a touch too firm for my liking. But since the sex toy’s diameter is still quite small, it’s not really an issue.
