While Pornhub is betting on science by sharing its jaw-dropping statistics, Youporn is turning to the occult. The porn tube platform has indeed ventured into astrology with the site Sexzodiac, a sexual horoscope.
Every month, Sexzodiac tells you what you’ll be doing with your bottom, based on your astrological sign.
Granted, Pornhub and Youporn aren’t really competitors. In fact, they belong to the same company, MindGeek. It holds a monopoly on porn streaming platforms, as well as several of the biggest porn film production companies, including Brazzers and Digital Playground.
So, Pornhub, Redtube, Youporn, Tube8, Xtube, Spankwire, Pornmd, Thumbzilla, and plenty of other streaming sex sites are just various branches of the same multinational. The target audience varies, so does the design. Among the main porn tube sites, only XHamster, owned by Hammy Media Ltd, is not part of MindGeek.
Sexual horoscopes and women’s magazines
Although they are not exclusively reserved for them, sexual horoscopes seem to be a hallmark of websites aimed at women. Online, sex horoscopes are found mostly in women’s magazines.
Why? Although I’m a woman myself, I’ve never really seen the point in trying to correlate my birth month with my future flings. But AuFeminin, Cosmopolitan, Elle, Femme Actuelle, Marie-Claire and the women’s porn site Dorcelle each offer their own sex horoscope.
With Sexzodiac, would Pornhub be trying to declare itself a porn platform for women?
Zodiac sex toys
The sexual horoscope is also available in the form of sex toys. The brand Bijoux Indiscrets (which we had tested a double-ball lollipop from a while back) has launched the “Horoscope” collection.
The collection features twelve sets, one for each astrological sign.
Each set contains:
- a vibrator (it’s the same one for all the signs),
- a necklace adorned with a stone said to correspond to the zodiac sign of the person it’s given to,
- and a scented balm, whose fragrance represents the “natural element” of the astrological sign in question.
And if an astrologer’s advice about your sex life doesn’t really inspire you, you can also improvise and do as you please with your genitals.
