Dorcel Store sent us the Flamma anal plug, from the brand Diamonlove.
This plug is, one has to admit, an imitation of the famous metal plugs from the Rosebuds brand.
We already knew the Rosebuds. Indeed, we have two of them, the Cristal, sparkling with a thousand glints, and the Tailbud, perfect for pony play. Our desire to test the Flamma plug is therefore mainly driven by our wish to assess the quality difference between the original and this one.
Here is the review of the Flamma plug, from Diamonlove.
Packaging
As packaging goes, the sex toy is simply placed in its case.
A cardboard label is attached to it. On one side, it features a brand logo and an image of the plug; on the other, the sex toy’s specifications, namely its name, dimensions, material, the standards it complies with, and its distributor’s address.
The satin case is very simple, but adequate.
Appearance of the Flamma anal plug
The sample we received is size “Small”.
It is markedly smaller than the two Rosebuds we have reviewed. Those are size Large.

It is therefore highly likely that the size of the Flamma plug corresponds to that of a Small-size Rosebuds. But I don’t have one at hand to find out for sure.
The side meant to be visible is decorated with a “brilliant”, a translucent red one that adorns the wearer’s anus.
If you look closely, you notice some small flaws.
Indeed, its metal part has a few tiny dark spots, and there are gaps in the pigmentation of the brilliant. Only its surface is coloured, and the colour is not perfect. It doesn’t really resemble the opaque red that the Flamma plug proudly sports in its official photos.

The sex toy is 6 centimetres long, with a 4.5 cm insertable part. The maximum diameter of this insertable part is 2.5 centimetres, which is exactly the same as the diameter of the plug’s base.
Texture and materials
The insertable part of the piece is made of stainless steel, and is one single piece, extending up to the rim of the “crystal”. It is a body-safe material, not prone to chemical reactions, and hypoallergenic. Nothing to fault on that front, therefore.
As for the “crystal”, it is made of plastic. Or maybe glass… It’s hard to guess what lies under the paint, and it isn’t stated on the label, nor in the product description.
Use of the Flamma anal plug
The Flamma plug is a decorative anal plug, just like the Rosebuds. Its use is therefore similar.
The Rosebuds Cristal Large (on the left in each of the two photos) and the Flamma plug from Diamonlove (on the right).
Since the device is smaller than the other sex toys of the same type we have used, I wasn’t really worried about insertion. It goes in without difficulty, provided you arm yourself with lubricant beforehand.
Whatever the size of a sex toy, if you intend to insert it into an anus, lubricant is indispensable for comfort, because, unlike a vagina, a back door is incapable of lubricating itself.

The insertable part is in the shape of a slightly bulging cone. Its tip is very fine, and it gradually widens. The insertion can therefore be done very gradually.
Once the plug is in place, it is its “stem”, very thin (9 millimetres in diameter), that is located at the entrance of the anus. The back door is not stretched excessively; it is rather comfortable. The circle decorated with a “brilliant” protrudes and is visible between the cheeks.
It can be worn during foreplay, or during vaginal penetration. By pressing on the wall between the anus and the vagina, it reduces the space left for the penis, thereby increasing the sensations felt.
I also tried wearing it under clothes, first while walking, then while sitting. I constantly felt the plug’s presence, with no particular discomfort. The object doesn’t get in the way; its “head” actually sits quite well between the cheeks, and it’s exciting to use a sex toy almost in front of everyone, without anyone being able to tell.
Conclusion on the Flamma anal plug
In itself, the Diamonlove Flamma anal plug is a nice sex toy, pleasant and exciting to use, and made from stainless steel, a material that is safe for the body.
So, at first glance, it’s lovely, of decent make, quite pretty, etc… But it’s still a whole notch below the Rosebuds. Mainly, the difference is the “crystal”, which here is a coloured plastic, not ugly, but a bit cheap (and it even has a few very tiny flaws if you look closely ).
After this observation, it naturally occurred to us: “Yeah, OK, it has a slightly cheaper look, but at the same time it costs less, for the same sex-toy use”… The question being: can the less lovely / cheaper ratio be worth the detour? Cheaper by how much, anyway? We therefore looked up the prices of the Rosebuds Cristal Small, in order to get a rough idea, at similar dimensions… Alas, we found that the prices were… strictly the same. To be exact, the Flamma plug costs 99 cents more.
- It’s a nice sex toy and pleasant to use.
- The insertable part is stainless steel, with no risk of allergies or toxicity.
The bad points:
- For the same price, you can get a better-quality equivalent, prettier.
Let’s wrap up then: If it were cheaper than an original Rosebuds, it would probably be a very interesting alternative on a tight budget… Except that it costs the same.
It is an imitation, less pretty than the original version, sold at the price of the original.
I can hardly see how we could recommend it to you.
Note finale du test
Les plus
- Pleasant to use
- The insertable part is made from a body-safe material (stainless steel).
Les moins
- Concept isn't exactly original: it resembles the Rosebuds, but is less well made.
- The decorative part is made of plastic (or glass) with a rather uneven paint finish.
- The build quality is below par.
- ... And yet, the price is no lower than that of higher-quality versions.
