Autoblow 2: Review of a Sucking Masturbator

The Autoblow 2, a sex toy billed as the holy grail of robotic fellation, arrived with a fair amount of buzz. A sucking masturbator? That’s at least what its crowdfunding campaign promised…

In order to be able to write its review, I got myself “sucked” (or rather “robot-sucked”) by the Autoblow… So I’m going to (try to) share my impressions with you.

Nothing particularly noteworthy about the packaging. It’s a cardboard box, rather plain, while still looking presentable…

But that’s not what we’re here for… Let’s get down to the point: the masturbator.

Appearance of the Autoblow 2

With its blue and white cylindrical housing, the Autoblow’s appearance could have been devoid of any sexual connotations… if the cylinder weren’t topped by a fleshy pink mound, in the centre of which a slightly open mouth, almost bulging, patiently awaits for an erect member to be presented to it.

The mouth has a fairly “neutral” look; you could just as well see it as representing female or male lips.

An annoying detail when it comes to storing it: unlike other masturbators such as Fleshlights, the Autoblow has no lid, and its “squishy” part is not enclosed. Best to get a fabric pouch or a box large enough to contain it, otherwise it’ll quickly turn into a dust trap.

How the Autoblow works

The “mound” is actually a sleeve (the “cuff”) that extends inside the sex toy. It’s into this opening that you need to insert your penis so that it gets “auto-sucked” by the Autoblow.

The sleeve in question is available in three sizes: to choose from, A (for penises with a diameter of 2.4 to 3.2 cm), B (wee-wee between 3.2 and 4.4 cm in diameter) and C (between 4.4 and 5 cm)…

Only the circumference varies from one size to the next; the depth is the same. If your ego tells you your enormous member requires (at minimum) a size XXXL, do note that a well-fitted cuff will probably offer more effective stimulation. We received size B, which suited me fine.

 

Around the cuff, inside the housing, two rings of beads move back and forth, pressing the surface of the sleeve in order to compress it locally, so that its inner walls simulate the movements and suction provided by fellation.

The cuff is removable, which makes it easy to clean, and can be replaced. For now, there’s only one model, available in three sizes, but it’s always good to know in case the sleeve eventually deteriorates or you got the wrong size.

The speed of the back-and-forth motion is adjustable, thanks to a dial located underneath the housing.

Texture and materials

The Autoblow’s housing is made of rigid plastic, while its sleeve is made of a material described as “artificial skin of quality”… Hmm… Unknown composition. It doesn’t smell too strongly of plastic, which is something.

The Autoblow 2 works plugged into the mains… And that’s a bit of a shame, as it means you have to masturbate (or rather, autoblow) at the end of a cable from a power socket. And no mechanised auto-fellation in the shower.

First things first, you need to stock up on a good amount of lubricant, water-based so as not to damage the sleeve.

I plug in the Autoblow.

Sound level

It makes quite a bit of noise, mechanical and regular; you can hear it moving, inside. If you have housemates or walls that are too thin, you’ll need to come up with a good excuse to explain this sudden cacophony (for example, “I’m making banana nectar”, “I’m listening to dubstep”, or “My PC is noisy” will do the trick).

I steel myself (and the sex toy) with both hands before entrusting my penis to the infernal machine.

So, as I’m not quite sure how to put it into words to describe the effect, I’m going to simplify the literary process and give you my take in the form of questions and answers. A sort of FAQ, basically.

Is it pleasant?

Yes, definitely.

Incredibly pleasant?

Whoa, let’s not get carried away, shall we.

Does the sensation really differ from classic manual masturbators (like Fleshlights)?

Yes, it’s not miles apart either, but it’s different.

And is it better?

So, a delicate question. Yes and no.

Yes, because the movement is nice, and it’s automatic. Or put more bluntly: you feel less like you’re jerking off.

But also, no. No, because in the end the sensations are limited by what this little electric motor can provide.

See the photos above and notice that it’s impossible to apply “manual” pressure around the penis (as you can, for example, with a Flip Hole or a 3D by Tenga), given the construction of the thing. So you end up having to make do with a pressure that’s still considerably less than what’s usually provided by our big (or small) claws. And that, well, is less good.

Does it feel like fellation?

Once again, yes and no. In the abstract, I’d say no. It doesn’t really resemble it. But in the end, still, it resembles it a lot more than a Fleshlight-like.

Does it feel like penetration?

Same answer as for fellation. Exactly the same answer.

To sum up, how would you describe the sensations?

Well, first of all, I’m starting to question my mental health, since I’m now talking to myself in my own self-interview.

And secondly, I’d say it’s a bit like Fleshlights, but more “light” (less pressure), except you still gain a little “realistic” side and a little “it’s autonomous” side.

The realism, even if far from perfect, is still better than nothing, better than Fleshlights, for example.

The autonomous aspect also contributes to this small semblance of realism: “something” is masturbating you, and it’s not your own hands. You immediately find it (and imagine it) much easier to relate to a two-person sexual encounter (or a ten-person one if you’ve got a lot of imagination).

Conclusion on the Autoblow 2

The good points:

• The sensations are more “realistic” than with other types of masturbators.
• It’s “autonomous”: you don’t masturbate with the Autoblow, you let it masturbate you.

The bad points:

• Less pressure on the penis than during masturbation.

 

 

My take on the Autoblow 2 is mixed. It’s nice, but not mind-blowing. I’d hoped for more after seeing the promo videos.

In the end, it’s a pleasant and effective sex toy, without being fantastic for all that.

It deserves to be a new type of masturbator, one that provides a new type of sensation… so you could say it delivers on all its promises. But… the result isn’t breathtaking, or at least, not up to my expectations.
