The Fun Factory Manta is a masturbator of a whole new kind. Rather than a cylinder fitted with a penetrable orifice attempting to represent a vagina, a mouth or an anus, this is a sort of vibrating clamp that complements or replaces the hand’s action when masturbating.
A bit like the Duo Vibe by Rianne S, which we reviewed some time ago, but more specialised and more refined.
The Passage du Désir shop allowed us to test it. So here is our review of the Fun Factory Manta.

The packaging is pretty much the same as for all the other toys from the brand. A cardboard box, disposable, featuring a visual of the sex toy.
No storage accessory is included.
The sex toy
Appearance of the Fun Factory Manta
The Fun Factory Manta looks like an odd khaki-green clamp, with ridges and a black handle. A blue variant also exists.
It’s a rather strange object. It would be hard to call it beautiful, but it’s not hideous either. The shape of the “clamp” part would evoke the fins of a manta ray, hence the name of the sex toy.
Texture and materials
The Manta is made of 100% medical-grade silicone, a material that is odourless, non-porous and safe for the body. The two “arms” of the clamp, which will enclose the penis, are soft and flexible.
Power supply
The Fun Factory Manta is recharged using the Click & Charge, a charger common to all the brand’s sex toys. On one side, two metal contacts that magnetically attach to similar contacts on the sex toy’s handle. On the other, a USB port.
Using the Fun Factory Manta
Controls
The Manta has three buttons: “+”, “-” and “Fun”.
“Fun” turns the sex toy on and off, while “+” and “-” allow you to cycle through the modes.
You can also lock the controls by pressing the “Fun” and “-” buttons simultaneously for a few seconds, until a pulse is felt. To unlock, you’ll need to press “Fun” and “+” in the same way.
Vibration modes
The Fun Factory Manta has twelve modes: first six constant modes (you start on the third one), ordered by intensity, then six “playful” modes.
Principle
This isn’t the first vibrating masturbator from Fun Factory. Indeed, the Cobra Libre, the brand’s first sex toy for men, distributes its vibrations across the glans to stimulate it.

However, the Fun Factory Manta doesn’t just focus on the glans, but can stimulate the penis along its entire length.
With its “clamp” gripping the penis, you can masturbate with it using back-and-forth movements, or apply the vibrations solely to the glans, the shaft or the testicles.
Effectiveness of the Manta masturbator
The vibrations are powerful, and you can lend the device to a female partner, as it also works very well on a clitoris.
As for the ridges on its “clamp”, they aren’t purely for aesthetic purposes. In fact, they hold the lubricant, allowing the sex toy to glide for longer.
Did I cum?
Did I cum while using it? The short answer: yes.
Indeed, the Manta vibrates hard, and its “clamp” grips the penis. This allows it to perform a back-and-forth motion along the shaft, or to directly stimulate the glans itself, moving closer or further away from “ordinary” masturbation depending on the case. And by alternating these different movements according to your desire, you can easily reach orgasm.
Did I enjoy the sensations?
But in practice, did I actually enjoy the sensations the device provides?
I’m a bit torn on this question, as I don’t want to be unfair to this masturbator. Indeed, vibrations on my penis have never really been my cup of tea. From as long as I can remember, and whatever the sex toy. To masturbate, I prefer the sensations provided by manual masturbation, or at least one with a movement resembling that of my hand when I “jerk off”… (And my hand doesn’t vibrate).
Despite that, I have to admit that the Manta is one of the ones that work best for me. Particularly because it doesn’t just vibrate, but does so while leaving the know-how of the movements to the greatest expert on your penis: yourself (or your partner).
For someone like me, usually hesitant to delegate the jerking, the vibrations then become a bonus, rather than a disadvantageous replacement.
If on the other hand, like many other people, your penis tends to really love vibrations in general, I think the device will be all the more appreciated. It seems to provide the intended effect in any case: bring you to orgasm.
In short, for me, it’s not the revolution that will definitively convert me to male masturbators, but it remains very effective.
Conclusion on the Fun Factory Manta
- Its vibrations are powerful, its shape is well designed, and it brings you to orgasm without too much effort.
- It’s a new way to masturbate, which leaves you fairly free and is a change from traditional masturbators.
- Overall, it’s a good quality sex toy, made of pure silicone, with a battery that holds its charge well.
The bad points:
- The sex toy might have deserved a bit more firmness, a little less lightness for the “pinching” aspect of the penis.
