The successor to the Doxy Massager, the Doxy Number 3 is an ultra-powerful clitoral vibrator with more modest dimensions.
With a metallic look, it also seems a bit more luxurious, at least as far as appearance goes. Let’s admit it, the previous model was a bit minimalist.
But despite being compact, it promises serious power. This was something I had to check in this review.
Sextoy packaging
The packaging is a cardboard box. It is pretty and makes a good first impression, however, inside, there are no storage accessories. A shame.
Look of the Doxy Number 3
I told you in the intro that the Doxy Number 3 is a small vibrator. However, small is relative. We’re a long, long way from the dimensions of the Fairy Pocket Mini, which looked more like a keyring than a sextoy.
In fact, the device measures 28 cm long, with a head diameter of 4.5 cm. It is nothing like a pocket vibrator, but is noticeably more compact, and therefore more practical, than the original Doxy Massager, with its 35 cm.
It is also much less bulky than competing magic wand-style products, such as the Europe Magic Wand, the Body Wand, the Fairy Large, or even the Tokidoki x Lovehoney unicorn vibrator or the Motörhead Orgasmatron vibrator.
In terms of looks, like any magic wand-style vibrator, it resembles a kind of microphone. But a rather classy microphone. The finish is refined, it doesn’t look “cheap”.
Texture and materials
The head of the sextoy is covered in silicone, and therefore harmless to the body, non-porous and odourless.
Its handle, which contains its controls, is made of metal. More precisely, it is an alloy of aluminium and titanium: as you might expect, it’s solid! And the rigidity of the metal prevents the vibrations from being lost en route.
As for the control buttons, they are made of rigid plastic.
Controls and modes
Like the Doxy Massager, the Number 3 has three buttons: a circle, a “+” and a “-“.
- The circle turns the sextoy on. And, if you press it a second time, it gives access to a pulsation mode that, to be honest, is not very interesting.
- The “+” and “-” buttons are used to adjust the intensity of the vibrations.
Power supply
As with the other Doxy models, the Number 3 is corded, and therefore not compatible with any water nearby.
Its cable is fairly long: the distance between the sextoy and the socket never bothered me during use.
We received the version fitted with a UK plug, requiring an adapter to use it in France. However, I think it must be a simple logistics error (sextoys sent to testers do not always follow the usual delivery arrangements).
Effectiveness of the Doxy Number 3
As for power, well… It starts strong, and it gets even stronger! This sextoy packs a punch! Nothing to complain about on that side: it is ultra-mega-powerful!
However, at times, the sound produced by the vibrations changes, and they seem to become slightly different. I cannot really pin down what triggers this alteration, but it’s a bit strange…
However, nothing dramatic, it doesn’t change much in terms of sensations, and it doesn’t prevent repeated orgasms.
It is worth noting that the Doxy Number 3’s smaller head directs more of the vibrations onto the clitoris, and less onto the surrounding area than its big brother the Doxy Massager, or the Europe Magic Wand.
On this point, it’s a matter of preferences and anatomy: it all depends on what you are looking for in terms of sensations.
Conclusion on the Doxy Number 3
The good points:
- It is ultra-mega powerful!
- It is not very bulky, and its cable is long, which allows easy handling in all situations.
The bad points:
- Its vibrations are changeable at times. In practice, this doesn’t really affect use, but it’s a bit strange.

The Doxy Number 3 has joined the few sextoy models that deserve a place on my bedside table (yes, we have quite a collection, we can’t keep them all in our bedroom!). And I think it will stay there for a good while.
Despite a small flaw that in the end is not really annoying, except for my curiosity (but what exactly could be causing these variations in the vibrations, I still wonder), it has exactly what I expect from an ultra-powerful clitoral vibrator. That is: a thunderous level of power, and simple, practical handling.
