Funtoys’ Gballs 2 are geisha balls with Bluetooth connectivity, specifically designed to make Kegel exercises fun and therefore easier to stick to.
For those who don’t know, Kegel exercises involve contracting and relaxing the muscles of the vagina, known as the pelvic floor muscles, to train them.
The aim is obviously not to have a weightlifting pussy capable of lifting anvils and crushing any penis that comes near it, like that of Tatiata Kozheynikova, the unofficial holder of the title of “world’s strongest vagina”, with pelvic floor muscles capable of lifting 14 kilograms.
But having a healthy pelvic floor helps you have more enjoyable sex. And depending on the circumstances, it can also help you to:
- limit the damage during an upcoming birth,
- recover after giving birth,
- resolve urinary incontinence problems,
- keep all the organs above it well supported.
A few regular exercises are all it takes, and you can do them without any accessories at all. However, with the Gballs 2 connected geisha balls, Funtoys, the maker of the strange G-Vibe, aims to make these exercises fun and motivate you to keep up a good routine.
Here’s our review of Funtoys’ Gballs 2.
Packaging
The Gballs 2 connected geisha balls come in a thick cardboard box, padded with foam.
Inside, you’ll find the sex toy, its charging cable, the instructions, and a white satin pouch bearing the brand’s logo.
Unboxing the Gballs
The sex toy
Appearance
The Gballs have a fairly ordinary look: fuchsia, made in one piece, with a black silicone string sticking out from the base. They don’t look ultra-luxurious, but they’re not ugly, don’t look too “cheap” and seem sturdy.
Texture and material
The Gballs 2 are entirely coated in medical-grade silicone, a body-safe material.
The two connected geisha balls are quite firm. You can feel there’s something hard inside, except at the join between the two balls, which is soft and flexible.
The cord is pliable, but not stretchy. A thicker cord would have been more comfortable.
Power
The Gballs are recharged using a proprietary cable with a slim connector that plugs into the base of the sex toy, and a USB port at the other end.
The Gballs 2, their pouch and charging cable
To find the Gballs cable among the many sex toy charging cables in our collection, lots of which look alike without being identical, I had to embark on what amounted to an archaeological dig… In short, proprietary charging cables really aren’t a good idea.
One good point, though: after leaving the Gballs unused for several months, I was surprised to find they were still charged. Great battery, then.
Using the connected geisha balls
Controls
The Gballs have a single round button to turn them on. The geisha balls are designed to be inserted fully into the vagina. The sex toy therefore doesn’t need any extra buttons. Everything is done through the app.
Without the app, you still have access to constant vibrations or a pressure-sensitive mode, but that’s not really what this sex toy is for.
Installing the app and getting started
The app for training your pelvic floor muscles and playing with the Gballs is available on Google Play and Apple’s App Store. It’s called “Magic Kegel”. The app is free, with no paid features.
Once the app is installed, you sign up by providing an email address, a username and a password. This lets you save your progress in the app and retrieve it even if you change phones. We were able to check this by logging into the same account from both our phones.

Next, you need to connect the sex toy. To do this, Bluetooth must be enabled on your phone; the app will let you know if it isn’t. You then have 20 seconds to turn on the Gballs, and they connect automatically.
Note that the Gballs have no “long-distance” functionality over the internet. They’re a sex toy designed for solo play and training, with your smartphone acting as a remote control.
The app then gives you the instructions to get started: lie on your back with your knees bent and legs apart, insert the geisha balls, and then contract and relax your pelvic floor to control the movements of a bird shown on the screen.

Pelvic floor strengthening exercises
The pelvic floor strengthening exercises are tailored to your profile, the goal you want to achieve and how experienced you are with the app.
Exercise categories

You can choose between six exercise categories (for each type of exercise, the app displays a description to help you decide whether it’s the right workout for you):
- Entry level: “basic” exercises for those just starting out with the Gballs 2.
- Honeymoon: for women who want to strengthen their pelvic floor muscles for sexual purposes.
- Baby plan: for those who want to strengthen their pelvic floor in preparation for childbirth.
- New mum: for those who want to strengthen their pelvic floor again after giving birth.
- Rehabilitation: to help with urinary incontinence.
- For ladies with weight problems who want to strengthen their pelvic floor.
Each of these categories has four difficulty levels.
How an exercise with the connected geisha balls works
The exercises involve contracting your pelvic floor muscles around the geisha balls, then relaxing them, following verbal and on-screen instructions, and vibrations. The screen shows a bird that follows the movements of your pelvic floor, rising when you contract and descending when you relax.
As you work through the exercises, you unlock “achievements” for your successes or perseverance, and gain experience that lets you grow a virtual plant. It’s fun, funny and motivating: personally, I really like this approach. If you’re a performance addict, you can also track your progress with detailed statistics.
Verdict: does it work well?
Now for the technical side. The previous sex toy for Kegel exercises that we tested, the AirBee, was very poor at detecting changes in pressure, which stopped it doing its job properly. I was worried the Gballs connected geisha balls might have the same problem. The verdict? Better. But still not quite there.
When they’re positioned correctly (the lower geisha ball, which contains the pressure sensor, needs to sit at the entrance to the vagina), the Gballs are responsive and follow the contractions and relaxations of the pelvic floor accurately. However, if you don’t hold the cord in your hand while contracting, the Gballs eventually move further inside the vagina. At that point, I don’t know whether the sensor stops detecting much because the right part of the sex toy isn’t being pressed, or whether the Bluetooth connection drops out, but the bird on screen tends to lose track of the exercise.
Holding the cord works better, but this thin silicone string tugs a little when you contract, making things a bit uncomfortable.
The “fun” mode
The Magic Kegel app also has a mode called “fun”: once your strengthening exercises are done, it’s time for pleasure!
It’s not as sophisticated as the newer connected sex toys designed for this purpose. In particular, there’s no “remote control” mode that lets you change the vibrations as you like with a fingertip; instead, you only get pre-set patterns.
But although this is just an extra feature rather than the sex toy’s main purpose, these modes are well made and enjoyable to use, all the more so because the geisha balls vibrate quite strongly. Don’t really expect to orgasm this way, but they’re effective for getting you aroused.
Conclusion on the Gballs 2 connected geisha balls
- The Magic Kegel app, which lets you exercise your pelvic floor muscles using the Gballs, is fun and motivating. You get into it and want to keep doing the exercises to unlock achievements. That’s what you want above all from a fitness app, whether it’s for training your pussy muscles or any others.
- The Gballs are made from medical-grade silicone and are therefore body-safe.
- Their battery holds its charge for a long time.
The bad points:
- The mechanism that allows the Gballs to detect pressure could still be improved (it’s better than the Airbee, but there are still some glitches).
- The proprietary charger: don’t lose it, or you’re stuffed (and for us, with our many sex toys that have proprietary chargers, it’s a real treasure hunt).
