The cam platform Stripchat has launched Anal-ytics, a tool for recognising anal sex in live video streams using artificial intelligence. Videos detected in this way are automatically and instantly added to the site’s “anal” category.
Stripchat’s algorithm is a convolutional neural network (CNN in English), capable of detecting whether the video shown to it features anal sex, with 92% reliability. To train it, its developers had it watch tens of thousands of videos and images. For each one, they indicated whether anal sex was present or absent.
Artificial intelligence and porn
Recognising porn using AI first made it possible to censor it. Facebook was one of the first to introduce automatic nudity detection. The social network detects penises, vulvas and breasts as soon as a photo or video containing them is uploaded. This means it can block naughty content without human intervention.
But artificial intelligence also has a place in the world of porn. Hotmovies, for example, offers a facial recognition porn search tool, so you can find the actor or actress who looks like you, or like your current crush. Pornhub has been using machine learning for several years now to categorise its videos and identify famous actors and actresses.
However, until now, these were only pre-recorded videos. Being able to identify a specific sexual act in a live video stream is a major innovation.
Anal-ytics: what is it for?
The tool allows viewers who are fans of anal, a very popular category on the site, to know when one of their favourite performers is doing it in front of their webcam. That way, they don’t miss the show !
Anal-ytics should also increase the visibility of camgirls and camboys. Indeed, directing people who are keen on the content currently being streamed to their video stream should enable them to retain more fans.
If the platform has started with anal, it’s only the beginning: it doesn’t intend to stop there. A oral sex detection tool, working on the same principle, is being tested. Stripchat also plans to apply this technology to BDSM, squirting and fisting in the coming months.
