Hacked Connected Chastity Cage: The Cyber-Hostage Pecker

le

BDSM friends and erotic accessory enthusiasts, brace yourselves for a new scourge: the hacked connected chastity cage.

The age of connected sextoes raises issues that may seem incongruous at first glance. And in particular, the question of software security.

Until now, when we talked about security flaws in connected sextoes, data privacy was the only concern. However, when it comes to a hacked connected chastity cage, things get a lot trickier, because your pecker can literally be taken hostage by a malicious hacker.

Hacked connected sextoes: the CellMate chastity cage hacked

The CellMate Connected Chastity Cage

The accessory in question is the CellMate, made by the brand Qiui, which is a connected chastity cage. The principle? You slip the cage over your pecker, like any other chastity cage. Then, via a smartphone app, you hand over control of the CellMate to a partner at a distance.

Your Dom(me) then has total control over the cage’s lock, and can decide to lock up your pecker for as long as they please. On paper, this can lead to some rather amusing BDSM games, and prove particularly interesting in the context of long-distance dominance-submission relationships.

Hacking a Connected Chastity Cage and the Consequences

This is the first case where a hacked sextoy poses a physical risk to its user. Indeed, when control of your connected chastity cage falls into the hands of people with malicious intent, things can quickly turn into a nightmare.

According to the magazine Vice, who collected their testimonies, several CellMate users were victims of their connected chastity cage being hacked.

“Robert” (that’s a pseudonym), one of the victims, received a message from the hacker, demanding a ransom of 0.02 bitcoin (around 650 euros) to free his pecker. Fortunately for him, at that point, he wasn’t wearing his cage when he realised it had indeed been permanently locked. “RJ”, another victim, had the same thing happen to him but seems to have been less lucky. The story doesn’t tell us how he managed to free himself.

The hacker reportedly said to one of the unlucky ones: “Your cock is mine now” (“Your pecker is mine now”).

Some people fantasise about moneyslaving, a sexual practice between consenting adults where the submissive takes pleasure in being financially “bled” by a dominant woman, the whole thing sometimes accompanied by simulated blackmail. However, when the blackmail in question isn’t a consensual game, the experience must be somewhat traumatising.

A Security Flaw in the CellMate

In October, Pen Test Partners, a British cybersecurity firm, spotted this security flaw in the CellMate. If the server doesn’t respond, whether due to a bug or a hack, the cage stays locked. Bummer.

In May, Qiui, the Chinese brand behind this chastity cage, had released a new version of their app, supposed to fix the problem. However, the server interface associated with the first version remains online, and the hackable version is therefore still usable. In short, the peckers of users who haven’t updated their app are in danger. Contacted by Pen Test Partners and the news site TechCrunch on the matter, Qiui admitted they had given up on fixing the problem.

The brand did, however, share a backup method allowing a person who finds themselves stuck in the cage to free their pecker without the risk of injury. The procedure requires destroying the sextoy, but allows you to save the pecker trapped inside. To do this, Qiui recommends forcing open the panel on the front of the cage and applying an electric current to two of the wires to activate its motor and unlock it…

That said, if you fancy testing your MacGyver-of-the-arse skills, there are plenty of more fun and less stressful ways to do it.

Pen Test Partners also demonstrated some rather significant security flaws in the CellMate regarding data, managing to retrieve, among other things, users’ pseudonyms and geographic locations. But by now, that’s the least of it!

The CellMate in Our Hands

Coincidentally, we were about to publish our review of the CellMate… And as it happened, while trying it out, we were wondering about the risks of finding your pecker stuck for a non-consensual duration in the event of a malicious play partner or a fumbled operation.

Indeed, the CellMate chastity cage has no default safety system for unlocking it if you lose connection, or in case of a disagreement with the person in control. The misadventures of these poor chaps therefore answer our questions: it is indeed risky, and really badly designed…

Even though we haven’t, fortunately, had any trouble, I don’t think we’ll be rushing to use the thing again any time soon!
