A while ago, I told you about unicorn sex toys. Theory is all very well, but now let’s move on to practice: I tested a unicorn vibrator.
And not just any one: it’s an ultra-powerful wand-type vibrator, the Unicorn vibrator, born of a collaboration between the Lovehoney shop and kawaii products brand Tokidoki (despite its Japanese inspiration and its name, which means ‘sometimes’ in Japanese, it is actually a Californian brand).
This sex toy has a lot in common with the famous Fairy (or its rival, the Body Wand), but its head is that of a cute cartoonish unicorn, with a little horn on its forehead.
Here is our review of the Tokidoki x Lovehoney Unicorn wand vibrator.
The sex toy’s packaging
The packaging sets the tone: everything about this sex toy will be kawaii.
It features the logos of both brands. The Lovehoney one, which you can see above, and the Tokidoki one, a heart looming over two crossed bones, like a friendly pirate flag. It also has many kawaii motifs, characteristic of Tokidoki’s style: skulls surrounded by brightly coloured stars, smiling diamonds, a winged vampire mouth, a cupid rabbit, and above all a unicorn.
A window in the box gives a glimpse of the top of the vibrator, protected by a layer of clear plastic.
This packaging is aesthetic, but still disposable.
The look of the unicorn vibrator
The Tokidoki x Lovehoney Unicorn wand vibrator is not subtle. And it has quite a personality.
Its head is that of a unicorn with big black eyes, proudly sporting a little pink horn, a rainbow mane and a star on each cheek. It’s a fairly thick cover, but removable.

Below, there is a more conventional head, similar to that of the Fairy (smooth and giving the sex toy the look of a microphone), but in fuchsia pink, all the same. The sex toy can be used with or without its unicorn cover, depending on the desired sensations and look.
The handle is also very colourful, lots of blue, a bit of pink, some red around the adjustment dial, stars, a lightning bolt, a rainbow, and the Tokidoki logo.
This very distinctive look will admittedly not suit every taste. But its style is consistent, all its elements are matched to the ‘kawaii rainbow unicorn’ theme, in short, it’s exactly what you’d hope to get when you decide to buy a vibrator called ‘Unicorn’. As for me, I really like it, it’s an original and well-made look, which is a change from the traditional microphone-shaped vibrators you’re used to seeing in this category of toys.
Texture and materials
The unicorn cover is made of soft silicone. This material is safe for the body, compatible with all water-based lubricants, and its somewhat ‘squishy’ side gives a pleasant texture.

Under its unicorn head, the rest of the vibrator is made of rigid PVC, a material that also poses no risk to the body. The neck is flexible, which also helps to dampen the friction, and allows you to angle the sex toy more to your liking.
Power
The Unicorn vibrator is mains-powered. The bad side is that you can’t use it just anywhere (and above all never with water nearby), because a power point is necessary. The good side is that you’ll never run out of battery (except in the event of an EDF power cut).

The power cord is just over 2.5 metres long (the official toy description says 1.8 metres, which seemed quite limited to me, but in reality, the Unicorn vibrator’s cord is a longer cord than that of the Fairy Turbo, which is more than enough to allow plenty of freedom of movement).
Unicorn vibrator controls
The vibration intensity is adjusted using a dial that controls a potentiometer, as on the Fairy models or the Body Wand Large.

This is my favourite adjustment system. It’s super simple, a single dial that you move with a fingertip, you start with very, very low vibrations, and you adjust the vibration intensity to your liking, with perfectly gradual and controllable variations, up to maximum power.
Noise level
Like all ultra-powerful vibrators, this contraption makes a racket. If there are people in the next room, if the wall is thin, they may hear something. However, when you use it with its unicorn head cover, the noise tends to be slightly muffled.

Effectiveness of the Unicorn vibrator
The Tokidoki x Lovehoney Unicorn wand vibrator has power comparable to that of the Body Wand and the Fairy Large. Enough to reach an orgasm, without effort, in less than a minute.
When you use it with its unicorn cover, the vibrations are barely dampened, while the rubbing becomes noticeably less abrasive. This has the effect of increasing the sex toy’s effectiveness, and allows it to be used many times in a row without the clit becoming too irritated by the vibrations. The head allows you to play with shapes and textures, thanks to the ridges in the mane and the little horn.
The head seen in profile and from behind, on the mane side.
And when you want to use it in a more conventional way, simply remove the unicorn tip, and you find yourself with an equivalent of the large Fairy or the large Body Wand, almost identical, apart from the colours.
Conclusion on the Tokidoki x Lovehoney unicorn vibrator
- Its original and sparkling look: a unicorn, stars, rainbows, it’s kawaii and it puts you in a good mood.
- Its fearsome effectiveness: in the case of the Unicorn vibrator, opting for a fun, cute and colourful look does not mean it neglects your clit, quite the opposite. With its hyper-powerful vibrations, this magic unicorn truly has the power to make you cum at will.
The bad points:
- Its look: it will not suit every taste.
- Its price is much higher than that of the Fairy or the Body Wand, which are nevertheless very similar, apart from the unicorn head.
The Unicorn vibrator is a sex toy with a distinctive and whimsical look, but it is far from being a gadget for all that. Like the Fairy, it delivers an orgasm in a few moments. With a little extra on the sensations side, with its removable squishy head that allows you to vary textures and have a softer option for the clitoris, with almost as much power. In short, when it comes to effectiveness, it is formidable.

Then, when it comes to visual style, you either like it or you don’t. For my part, I like this look, which is out of the ordinary, but if unicorns and rainbows disgust you, I’m probably not telling you anything new by suggesting you instead look at the Body Wand or the Fairy for more understated equivalents. Or the Europe Magic Wand or the Doxy Massager, if you prefer a vibrator whose head has a slightly soft texture.
In any case, anyone looking for a unicorn vibrator will not be disappointed with the Tokidoki x Lovehoney Unicorn wand vibrator!
