La marque Wet For Her nous a envoyé le harnais Tomboi, de la marque SpareParts Hardwear, ainsi que sa dernière création, le Fusion, un gode très particulier.
The Fusion is specifically designed to be used with this type of harness, so we were advised to test them together.
As these two erotic accessories are closely related, we initially thought we’d combine both reviews in a single article. But there’s quite a lot to say about each of them, so I’ll start by telling you about the Tomboi harness. The Fusion, and how to use it with the Tomboi (and other harnesses), will have to wait for a future article.
We already have two other harnesses from SpareParts, the Joque and the Bella, so we’ll compare the Tomboi with them as we go along.
Here’s our review of the SpareParts Hardwear Tomboi harness.
Packaging and storage
Packaging
The packaging is a little simpler than the one the Bella came in (which is very similar to the one shown on the SpareParts website for the Tomboi), but it looks pretty good. [Edit: It turns out the Tomboi comes in two different types of packaging: in a black box like the Bella, or in a bag. To keep shipping costs from the USA down, SpareParts sends products in bags internationally.]
It’s fairly standard packaging for a garment: a large, clear plastic zip bag that’s meant to be thrown away once opened. Inside the bag is a large piece of card, which makes one whole side opaque. On the other side, the folded card only comes halfway up, so you can see the harness and its pouch.
On the card is a large illustration of a young, athletic woman with short hair wearing the harness (“Tomboy” means a girl who behaves like a boy in English), along with the brand logo and a few instructions.
It says “Handcrafted USA”, which suggests that it was made to high standards, and that the people involved were paid a decent wage and had decent working conditions.
The Tomboi is also sold in a pack with a Wet For Her sex toy, in which case the packaging may be different.
Storage
A storage pouch is included. Like the ones for the Joque and Bella, it matches the harness and is made from a similar fabric.
The pouch is pretty and handy for storing the harness without damaging it. It fastens with a zip.
The SpareParts Tomboi harness
Appearance
The Tomboi has a relaxed but attractive look. Unlike the Bella, which is all frills and lace, it looks more like the Joque: like underwear you might wear to do sport.
I don’t think it looks particularly “tomboyish” in itself; it’s just neutral enough to go with most styles.
On the inside, at the front, two fabric flaps fold over the ring that holds the sex toy in place: when you wear the harness without a sex toy, you’re not wandering around with your pussy on show. Behind these fabric flaps, underneath the ring, there’s also a little pocket designed to hold a small vibrating bullet or, more effectively, a mini vibrator such as the We Vibe Tango.
Sizes
All the sizes SpareParts makes for the Tomboi are available from Wet For Her. In other words, there’s a whole range of sizes (seven in total), from XS to 3X.
Like the Bella, the Tomboi is worn very close to the body and has no adjustment system. You need to be very precise when choosing your size, and take your measurements to work out which one you need.
Instructions on how to measure yourself correctly, and a size chart, can be found on the official SpareParts Hardwear website’s Tomboi product page. The chart is also on the packaging, so I scanned it for you:
The measuring instructions are exactly the same as for the Bella, so I’ll copy and paste the translation I used in my Bella review:
Measure your hip circumference with a tape measure, about 2.5 cm below your hip bone, then refer to the size chart and the shape of your body when viewed from the side:
- “Full moon” (rounded bum and tummy): choose one size up from what the chart indicates.
- “Three-quarter moon” (slightly rounded tummy and fairly round bum, or a very curvy bum): same thing, one size up from what the chart indicates.
- “Half moon” (flat at the front, round at the back): choose the size indicated by the chart.
- “Quarter moon or crescent moon” (rather flat curves): choose one size down from the one indicated.
[Edit: Actually, you may not always want to rely on the moon business when choosing your size (see the comments)]
Compatible sex toys
Like those on the Joque, the Bella and the Tantus Bend Over kit, the Tomboi’s attachment system consists of a slightly stretchy ring called an “O-Ring”.
When there’s no sex toy attached to the Tomboi, the ring has an internal diameter of just over three centimetres.
The ring is stretchy enough to fit slightly larger sex toys through it, but don’t push your luck. Pretty much any dildo with a wide, flat base and a diameter between 3 and 5 centimetres will be compatible. For example, the Fun Factory Tiger or the Tantus Comet, the Tantus Splash, and, as I mentioned in the introduction, the Fusion from Wet Wor Her.

You can also use it to hold a “strapless” strap-on dildo more securely, such as Tantus’s Feeldoe, Fun Factory’s Share, or similar toys.
Materials
The Tomboi harness is made from stretchy fabric, quite similar to the Joque’s: 77% nylon and 23% spandex. It all seems sturdy, the stitching is flawless, and there isn’t a single loose thread.
Its texture is a little like that of a swimming costume, with firmer elastic around the legs and at the front. There’s a wide, very sturdy elastic waistband.
You can hand-wash it, or machine-wash it on a delicate cycle, ideally after putting it in a laundry bag to protect it. Then leave it to air-dry, or tumble-dry it on a low heat. The fabric dries fairly quickly.
There’s also a little bird on the packaging to remind us that, like any underwear, it’s best to wash it before the first use: “Don’t be a dirty bird. Wash before use” (“Don’t be a dirty bird, wash it before using it.” It’s a play on words: “dirty bird” is also a derogatory term for a woman who sleeps with lots of people without worrying about the consequences. You could perhaps loosely translate this double meaning as “slut”.).

Using the SpareParts Tomboi harness
Putting the harness on
Like the Bella, the Tomboi harness goes on like a regular pair of knickers; no instructions needed.
Putting the dildo in the Tomboi is just as easy: from the inside of the harness, slide it through the ring head-first, then push it forwards until only its base remains on the inside. You can then fold the two fabric flaps over the base of the sex toy if you want to prevent rubbing. Or, with the Fusion (but I’ll tell you about that in its review), you can spread the flaps apart to make the most of the friction around the clitoral area.
The Fusion from Wet For Her, fitted into the Tomboi
Like the Bella, the Tomboi has no adjustment system: no straps, no laces; it’s the stretchiness of the material that lets you get into the harness and then holds the sex toy in place. That’s why you need to measure yourself very precisely. Still, I think the Tomboi allows for a slightly greater margin of error than the Bella, because without a layer of lace, its fabric is stretchier.
Comfort
The Tomboi is extremely comfortable, even more so than the Joque and the Bella.
The fabric hugs the body, but lets the skin breathe, allowing sweat to evaporate. You feel a bit “cooler” in it, and it’s soft and comfortable. It feels like wearing a swimming costume with an elastic waistband added.
I tried wearing it under jeans. Visually, it looks exactly like a regular pair of boxer shorts. You can see the elastic if your trousers are low-rise, but there’s nothing that would identify it at first glance as the top of a harness. After a while, I got used to the elastic acting as a waistband and forgot it was there.
It goes on and comes off like a regular pair of knickers, so there’s no hassle when it comes to going to the loo or getting undressed in a hurry.
It looks pretty good, actually: okay, it does bulge a little around the elastic, but it’s not too bad. The harness is very close-fitting, but the back covers my bum quite well, and the elastic sits in roughly the right places (that is, not right across the fattest bits), so the “sausage” effect is limited.
We haven’t had time to take any photos of the Tomboi being worn yet (and, actually, we still haven’t done that for the Bella either, though it’s on the list), so we’ll post some in a future article.
Handling
The stretchiness of all the harness components keeps the sex toy firmly in place, very close to the body. That makes it very easy to manoeuvre, because you can feel changes in pressure around its base and so intuitively work out where it is.
The dildo follows the movements of your hips perfectly. The ring and the harness’s taut fabric press it directly against your pubic area, so there’s no “lag” in your movements. You have excellent control over where the sex toy goes and how it gets there.
Conclusion on the SpareParts Tomboi harness
The good points:
- The Tomboi is attractive, while still having a fairly versatile look.
- It’s very comfortable to wear, even under clothes.
- It’s a high-quality harness, sturdy and well made down to the smallest detail.
- Like the Joque and the Bella, it’s easy to manoeuvre and lets you stay in complete control of the dildo’s position.
- It’s cheaper than the other SpareParts harnesses we’ve tested (the Joque and the Bella).
The bad points:
- As with the Bella, you need to be very precise when choosing a size, because there’s no adjustment system and you’re relying entirely on the stretchiness of the material. It may therefore not be suitable for people whose body shape tends to change quickly.
Note finale du test
Les plus
- Simple and understated
- Excellent quality
- Very manoeuvrable
- Very comfortable
- Compatible with most flat-based dildos and
Les moins
- Little margin for error on sizing
We really like the Tomboi, just like its two siblings, the Joque and the Bella. Like the other two SpareParts harnesses we’ve had our hands on, it’s sturdy and well made, and gives you total control over the movements of the sex toy you’re wearing.
Of the three, this is the one that seems best suited to wearing under your clothes if you want to be able to slip into a silicone penis at any moment, because it’s both particularly comfortable and particularly discreet. It has no straps, and its fabric isn’t too thick, so it lets your skin breathe without getting too hot.
For another perspective, you can also read the Tomboi review written by L. A. Grey on the forum.
We’ll soon be publishing photos to show you what the Tomboi looks like once it’s on my bum.
Merci à Wet for Her de nous avoir fourni le harnais Tomboi pour ce test
