The Womanizer Starlet is an extremely miniaturised version of the famous air-pulse vibrator. To such an extent that its appearance borders on the ridiculous: you’d think it was a Barbie doll’s sex toy.
But you can’t always judge by appearances. Could a formidable sex toy be hiding behind this harmless look? In practice, how good is it to use? We tested it.
Sex toy packaging
It’s far from the luxurious, practical case of the first Womanizer. The packaging is simply a small, thin cardboard box, and no storage accessory is included.
You might think this lack of frills is because we’re dealing with a cheap sex toy, but the Starlet still costs around 55 euros. It’s cheaper than the brand’s other sex toys, but I wouldn’t go so far as to call the price “cheap”.
The Womanizer Starlet’s look
The Womanizer Starlet is tiny: 8 centimetres long, 5 wide. It fits in the hollow of the hand. Completely plain, it comes in white, violet, or fuchsia. We received the fuchsia version.
It’s not ugly as such, however, it doesn’t look anything special. You genuinely get the impression you’re dealing with a cheap gadget, not a proper sex toy.
It looks a bit “plasticky”. Nothing is particularly badly made, but if I found this gadget in a Happy Meal, I wouldn’t be surprised.
Texture and materials
The body of the sex toy is made of rigid plastic, while its tip is made of soft silicone. No danger to the body, and no smell, so no worries there.
Controls and modes
As for controls, it’s very minimalist too. The Womanizer Starlet has just one single button. Hold it down to turn the sex toy on or off, and short presses move from one mode to the next.
As for vibration modes, you only have a choice between three intensity levels.
Sure, it’s often unnecessary to have too many modes in a sex toy, since the point isn’t to spend your time meditating over the controls. But here, it does leave a fairly limited choice.
Power
The Womanizer Starlet recharges via a standard micro-USB cable, which you plug in under a cover at the front of the sex toy. At least, if you lose this cable, it will be easy to replace it. That was for the good points.
On the bad side, it’s not waterproof, and its battery doesn’t last very long.
Effectiveness of the Womanizer Starlet
As for the suction and pulsation power, it’s maybe better than you’d expect from a vibrator that looks like a toy from a surprise bag. But to my taste, it’s not enough.
Indeed, the Womanizer Starlet is less powerful than the Womanizer W100. And even at maximum power, it’s very limited. I have to work really hard if I’m going to come with it, and even then, I don’t manage every time. That’s not what I expect from a sex toy of this type, which, if it does its job, is supposed to trigger an orgasm quickly and without effort.
Sure, sensitivity to air-pulse vibrators varies a lot from one person to another, and my clit is one of the unresponsive ones when it comes to this kind of toy: I need quite a lot of power for a Womanizer-like to suit me. So if your clitoris is responsive to the combo of suction and pulsations, the Starlet might do the trick for you. But if, like me, you are a fan of powerful toys, look elsewhere.
Conclusion on the Womanizer Starlet
The good points:

The bad points:
- The overall quality of this sex toy leaves a lot to be desired: not waterproof, “plasticky” look, short battery life. In short, it seems a bit cheap.

The Womanizer Starlet isn’t worth its price. If it had cost just around twenty euros, I would have said, why not. But my preconceptions were justified: it’s not powerful enough, and its quality is a bit “gadget”. Investing around fifty euros in it isn’t worth it.
If you’re looking for a good air-pulse vibrator, there are numerous other choices that will probably satisfy you more.
